This mornings visitor has been around several times, we used to have a big holly tree and they arrived in numbers for the berries
-
Not opened yet but a present from the Nephew from the Swanage Railway collection, looking forward to trying them when I've finished my Palmers!
-
Well got my Christmas beer in! Had friends and neighbours in yesterday for buffet lunch My favourite session beer, now to finish it off!
-
Been trying to get a shot of this fella for ages, my camera although very good takes a short time to focus through the window and they keep flying off! and on the other shell through a window that picks up a reflection at one time there were 6 in the garden but I was up to my neck in "muck & bullets" making a meatloaf!
-
As you say good selection but at those prices it would stay in the keg! I was drinking Palmers IPA near Bridport on Wednesday at £3.60 a pint very nice.
-
I've seen this fella several times but finally got a pic of him and this chap has appeared before but here you can see more of his colouring, albeit through a rain spattered window

A couple from the garden today, we usually see a lot of these on the feeders and occasional visitors strutting around the lawn rather taken with the fella on the right with the bouffant hairstyle!
-
-
We've had 3 sightings recently of a Grey Wagtail but it flies off before I can get my camera, so you'll just have to take my word for it!

Prompted by this post I dug my memento out given to me by the steward at the club back in the days when it was well worth drinking

On a recent trip which included a visit to Bratislava our guide pointed at what she called "Beer street" guess where I went after the tour Looking for local brews I went into a lovely drinking den, the list and selected Steiger @ 11% A lovely beer with a good depth of flavour, ok it's in the wrong glass but the Urpiner is also very good, a conventional lager style and the other half rated the cider very highly so I was allowed time to enjoy myself!

I've seen this fella around several times, but he's very nervous, I've only just managed to get a pic from an upstairs window a Greater Spotted Woodpecker.

Went to the IoW yesterday with 7 pals for one of our 1/4ly "Cultural Tours", enjoyed these amongst others and went to the where they have a constantly changing selection, 3 on and 2 getting ready worth a visit if you're over there.
-
Thank you for that, a neighbour used to have a dovecote and we had assumed something of the sort. Cheers David

On the Lawn a moment ago, a Cuckoo in the nest? From the Dove family I guess but not in my book, any ideas?

For those interested in old buses (and coaches)
MinZaPint replied to Joseph_Pestell's topic in Wheeltappers
My contribution I believe a Plaxton Leyland Tiger, owned by a local enthusiast and being put to good use taking us to Bath for a "Cultural Tour"! I'm sure somebody will correct me if I've got the details wrong. -

Seen at the Dorset County show It's in the colours of Eldridge Pope whose brewery was in Dorchester, they produced a very quaffable IPA, Royal Oak & Thomas Hardy Ale @ 12.5% the strongest beer in the country, all now gone! The cab sign is in the name of the current owners of this lovely 1947 Austin Dray.
