  11. The Wife and myself with our bikes in 2004 only the Suzuki left now, its looking for a good home, requires TLC not ridden since 2006! a better shot of her ladyships 1936 250 BSA The AJS & BSA went on several rallies here and in France. The Suzuki made trips to Tuscany (took 2 days as Swimbo likes to go over the "bumpy bits") and Portugal, stayed just north of the Duoro that took 3 days with stops just short of the Pyrenees and in Spain. Great days and memories, the Suzuki was a good long distance tourer on both the longer trips we did around 400 miles on the first day.
  12. Porcy Mane posted a link to the "Zig Zag Road a couple of miles away on the other side of Box Hill" well I happened to be there in the early sixties with my Ilford Sportsman and witnessed the following sequence they pushed the Jag over the edge and it rolled sedately down the hill, so they had to retrieve it and have another go with the same result they then resorted to using a little muscle which resulted in it rolling over and stopping! more muscle was required and they eventually succeeded in reducing the poor car to the state in the final pic! the film editor must have worn out his splicing machine putting the sequence together If anybody knows how to get the pics right way up please adjust and let me know how its done. Thanks Ok now loaded them to Microsoft Office Picture Manager an Hey Presto!

  14. My 1965 970 Cooper S with the then bonnet mascot! taken in the early 70's lovely car very free revving. I later had a nasty accident in this car, met the wife! that was 43 years ago!
  15. Still searching for a particular photo! found these Brighton Speed Trials in the sixties Sydney Allard's Dragster George Brown's Super Nero And I can't remember or verify what this is but I do recall the commentator saying it wouldn't win the sprint but would be well over 100mph when it crossed the line, not bad for a 1/4 mile! All taken on the return run as I had trouble panning my Ilford sportsman!
  16. Not just for 2 sugars but he did ask, I found this photo whilst looking for something else it was taken in Surrey in the early sixties, anybody got any ideas?
  17. Not really old (19 years) but one for Mini fans, in the Social club car park where I go for pitch and put golf before my Sunday pint!
  18. Now that would be nice! I have ordered a King as I model GWR & SR.
  19. Well London Pride at £2 a pint it would be rude not to, in the Wimborne Legion special offer normally £3.20! and for those wanting a Croatian beer I found these 2 quite acceptable when I was there!
  20. This Monumental Motor was parked, rather appropriately outside a Monumental Masons! a 1979 Lincoln Continental Coupe Just round the corner is the "Green Man" a very nice pub our first port of call on the day!
  21. Spotted this rather nice TR4a in a local car park last Friday
  22. At the start of yesterdays "Cultural Tour" I was faced with a difficult decision ! I chose the Exmoor Fox at 4.2% and very nice it was too and as we were waiting for the bus it seemed a shame not to have another one ! That was in the "Kings Arms" in Wareham, also had a perfect pint of Palmers Gold in the "Horse & Groom" highly recommended.
  23. The latest from the pub paddock. I know it's a replica kit but what a beauty! the motive power and this yank tank which had some modifications! A Chrysler I believe, anybody know anymore (now identified Chrysler New Yorker) a very nice light 15 from 1953 there was talk of MK10 Jags earlier on how about this MK9 There was a big turnout on a beautiful evening with a lot of cars I've shown before, a view over the Paddock but this XK120 had a plaque just above the bonnet badge certified by the factory as a Le Mans replica a very enjoyable evening with a pint or three (wife driving coke and a packet of crisps! that took her back a few years, sank some wine when she got home though!)
  24. Going up to Yorkshire in the week saw a lovely Le Mans Bentley on the A1m big no 8 painted on the grille, nice to see a car like that being used. On the way back had to divert off the A34 towards Salisbury and spotted a very nice cream MG TC coming the other way.
