  1. Accurascale Fran and Ragtag Got me worried for a Mo! considering how many times I read Grahams Articles Just had a look through collection of articles and Graham Clark's series was in PMR April 87. And there was indeed one in Railway Modeller using the same method by David Langton. The other was in Model Rail by George Dent using the DC Kits Kit. Only problem I have now is my littleboy now wants an 89 too. Think Il go for the Silverfox Kit option with a Hornby Class 47 Chassis as there will be far less things to Break! Cheers Trailrage
  2. Well after lots of after lots of consideration and justifying withe Bank the cost of what will be my most expensive Model. SWMBO (My Wife) told me to get one! Deposit paid and payment plan chose I'm now looking forward to this immensely. from the moment I first saw this on the cover of Rail Enthusiast Magazine it was obviously a thing of Beauty. Seeing Graham Clark's amazing Model in practical model Railways made from two Hornby HST bodies and a Hornby 58 Chassis was inspiring. First time I saw it in the Flesh was round the back of Bound Green Depot by now painted in "Swallow" livery, so I never got to see it in its original form. Allways liked going there as the Staff was always very friendly. Seeing those Pre-Production Model photos was the final straw and I caved! Well, that and getting the "Banks" permission of course! Thank you all involved in this amazing project as it looks like it's going to be one hell of a Cracking Model. Cheers Trailrage
  3. Interesting stuff here. Regarding cross London Freight, I was watching earlier Diesels and Electrics on 35mm which had some footage of Trains on the Kensington Olympia line. One was a Class 16 on a Mixed Freight with MOD Lorries loaded on European wagons, one was a Class 22 with the Headcode 9A73 on a mixed Freight and another a Class 24 with Headcode 4A11 on Mixed Freight. This would all be late 60's As I'm unsure which direction there are travelling in does anybody know what service the Headcodes were for? It's something I would like to model but just can't get my head round it all! Cheers Trailrage
  4. Hello EWS60065. Transfers are from Realtech. Railtec Transfers - waterslide model railway transfers (decals) for 4mm/OO gauge, 2mm/N gauge, 7mm/O gauge and all other gauges and hobbies (railtec-models.com) Cheers Trailrage
  5. WOW Mahooosive thank you to Steve at Railtech for producing this pack. As soon as Payday hits, I'm on it. Cheers Trailrage
  6. I'm thinking of using these. https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1946. Cheers Trailrage
  7. Hello WCML100. Closet I could find was these from Railtech. DB Branding for Class 37 &60/92. 37 ones might be closest. https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1893 JGA Weld lines. https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=3290
  8. Helo EWS60065 Those look very tasty! Brilliant Job on the Underframe. Still working my way through my ten or so I have and about the same for my little Boy. But modelling has all but stopped at the moment for several reasons and I'm not sure when I will get back to them. Keep up the brilliant work and keep on posting! Cheers Trailrage
  9. Something differeng. Lima MK2B TSO in NSE but with Regional Railways Bluestripe. Csme acrss a Pic on Flikr of 5439 and just had to do it. Still need to sort out the lower White Stripe as Lima's effort isnt even level got a SE flushglazing kit to go inand a set of Replica B4 Bogies to mount it on. It will never be perfect (but as I cant see myself ever being able to afford Accurascales gorgeous looking models at least for the time being) it will do.
  10. Hello John. That's brilliant thank you so much for taking the time to look for me, its much appreciated. I would normally refer to them myself But I cannot for the life of me find any of my Books between 93 and 2002. I take it from their absence on the above list that there wasn't any MK2z or MK2a BSO's in this version?. Although There are quite a few Photos on Flickr that show the Train, they only ever list the Loco. I have one Photo from a page out of possibly a Traction magazine Magazine (no date on the page) showing 17057 in the Modified NSE with the Blue Stripe and still having its West of England Branding on the Brake end. I have also come across a pic on Flickr of MK2b TSO 5439 in the same Modified livery but in a poor state (this works for me as I have a spare Lima NSE Model I can modify) Link Below. Cheers Trailrage
  11. Hello all Not having much luck in finding out which of the Former NSE liveried MK2A coaches received the Provincial Light Blue Bodyside Stripe in place of the Red one. I know BFK 17059 did as I had found a Pic in an old Rail Magazine but cannot find one on line. Did any of the BSO's receive it? I have a surplus Bachmann MK2 A that I'm hoping I can do. I can see that in the first shot its a BFK but cannot see a yellow stripe on the second image. Doesn't mean its a BSO though as it could be a downgraded BFK to BSK Looks like 37408's entire Train is made up of these! Cheers Trailrage
  12. Hello Purnu Well I'll be a son of a Bacteria! Believe it or not all the times I had searched on Flickr I never found a single Photograph of this! Thank you for that. Its good to see it did in fact get used in this condition. I need to have another look now to see when about it was converted. Much Obliged Trailrage
  13. I always seem to find myself reading back through your pages for a bit of inspiration. The GWR 387 is Amazing. But I have to ask What paint did you use as there doesn't appear to be any commercially available made GWR Paint. Was it mixed for the Job or did some get supplied for the conversion? Thank you for the hard work you put up on here for us to drool over! Cheers Trailrage.
  14. With several projects on hold until I can recoup some funds after having time off sick with Covid and not getting paid, my attention turned to other stuff that needs stuff doing. An old Lima 60093 In Transrail Grey. This things been waiting for around 5 years to have a partial repaint after an attempt to remove the big "T" stripped it down to black plastic! The real thing had the Big "T" removed on one side leaving the Transrail Wording, but a chance find of a perfect Photo while looking for inspiration on Flickr gave me this to copy. A nice big clean patch were the T used to be!. Nice bit if weathering should disguise any deference between shades of the original paint used by Lima, Railmatch for the upper Grey and Rainbow Railways for the lower grey. Pretty pleased so far and I think one more coat of Rail Grey should do the Job. Next up I took the plunge and put in my basket a set of DRS Refurbished Class 37 noses for my old Bachmann 37038. This is a Cheltenham Model Centre limited edition Model of it in the condition it appeared in at Crewe Works open day when it still had Split Headcode Boxes fitted. I have not been able to find any evidence it ran in this condition under DRS ownership. Had this since it was released some 15 odd years ago and never had the courage to modify it. I seen some suspect models like this and didn't want mine to be the same on the other hand I have seen some beautifully converted examples too. I Have to say these noses are beautifully done and fit perfect. I just hope my attempt at the tiny etched brass Top Headlight does it justice. I'm also very apprehensive about drilling out the 2mm hole above the centre window for it in case I make a complete Hash of it. I have also Never fitted a set of lights to model before either let alone used a Fibre optic before and as electronics are my Kryptonite, Wiring it up will be fun! Hopefully it will end up looking like this when its done. Cheers Trailrage
  15. Hello WCML100 Thank you for your kind comments. I had the flipping things since they first came out (and you could pick them up for a tenner a piece) and never really used them much. Same as the Ex Tilcon models which I stripped but as Stone Trains are staple diet where we are (my little boy loves them) they now get a lot of use. My only real gripe with them is the amount of added weight Bachmann Used disguised as the internal sloping ends as it really adds a lot of drag when you have 10 in rake let alone scale length. Otherwise they are lovely Models. On the Tilcon Models as they have the hood covers on removing the weigh wasn't an issue as you couldn't see it but as I have stripped 5 of them down to do the DB/VTG models I will see if I can use the original weight to make a template for some Plasticard replacements. Still got some work to do on RMC Wagons in regards of weathering and need to add the Blanked of Road stone markings but wanted to make sure the paint had fully hardened before doing a second coat (been caught out with that before). when I've had a chance to revisit Ill put some more pics up. Also please feel free to add pics of your own stock as I always find it interesting to see how other peoples models come out and the method they have used. Have a look at EWS60065's stuff he has done. its amazing. Cheers Trailrage
  16. I do like the Class 60's . There's just something imposing about them. and that deep reverberating rumble as they go past is great. Never gets boring. No dates on these but I will try and fins them if needed.
  17. Also made a start on a 2nd and 3rd Model of the elusive Load haul liveried ZBA Rudd. I had done one previously from a Parkside Kit but gave it to my Godson when me wifey bought me the Hornby rendition. My little boy after spending some time with my Godson decided he needed on as well! At least it gave me the chance to resurrect on beaten up old Parkside kit that was missing few things as well as a refresh of the Hornby Model. The Parkside Kit is a really nice Kit to build and goes together amazingly well. But boy are they hard to paint in Dutch! Even with the Model master Yellow Transfer (Failed Miserably with that as there designed for the Clam Kit) I never finished them. Load haul Livery is way easier to paint especially when being done in a distressed condition. Parkside Kit Plain Brake Lever side Parkside Kit Cranked Brake Lever side Hornby Model Plain Brake Lever side Hornby Model Cranked Brake Lever side. There's a huge difference between these two Models with Hornby's being a fair amount wider . Not sure which ones is correct with these. The Hornby model may have been based on the Original in ex works condition as its different from the small amount of pictures I have found of it. The Angle of the Orange on the Cranked Lever side is the opposite direction but I have changed this. (just needs some tidying up as its difficult to keep a steady hand while coughing like crazy!). linked a couple of images below of what I'm hoping it will look like when finished.
  18. Off work with a nasty dose of Covid. Tried me best to stay away from the family locking myself away with me Modelling so they didn't get it, but they did. Luckily their not to bad but its been pretty aggressive with me. at least it gave me some time to try and get some projects on the move a little Mixed up some Paint using some old Railmatch Intercity Fawn and Humbrol Matt White. Got it as close as I can. Bodies, Frames & Chassis now Painted. Just got to find where I can get some Transfers now. Came across some very nicely done Models on Flickr by someone called Jon Gavin, but as I Dont have an account, couldn't comment on it. Really like how these are done as they are very neatly finished.
  19. Hello delticman. That's amazing. Thank you so much for the information I'll have a look at john Web site for the Transfers. Very Much appreciated. Trailrage
  20. That looks brilliant. I would have never thought of mixing paint to get the correct shade for this. I could have sworn the correct paint was produced. Closest I could find was Precision Paints Pre First Group Great Western Green. But I have no idea if its even the same shade. Nothing on Railmatch or Rainbow Railways either. Also What Decals Did you use? . Thanks for the Reply. Cheers Trailrage
  21. These are some of the Images from Flickr I used for inspiration. And for when I can get a Donor Model. Has to be done. But which version clean or faded? Cheers Trailrage
  22. Hello all . Hoping someone can help. I'm in need of the GWR Paints as used on the above list of stock but cannot find anything listed on Precision or Railmatch. Is there anything you good people may have used that would be a good match? I have an old Dapol 150/2 That my littleboy wants me to paint in GWR Green and could have sworn I had seen the Gloss and Matt Green and the Silver for the Doors colours listed so it stripped (just need to fill in the Toilet Window) but I'm a bit stuck now. Cheers Trailrage
  23. Hello EWS60065. Managed to get some pics of me MFA Wagons. 1. EX Loadhaul Black 391225. Light coating of rust. 2. EX Coal Sector 391070 Also rust covered. Copied from a Pic on Flickr but weirdly looks much more rusty in the flesh than the photo! 3. EX Mainline Blue 391102 heavily faded and patch painted copied from a pic on Flickr 4. EX Coal sector 391025 with just the sides repainted into EWS copied from on a pic on Flick. Still dont have any transfers for it so still unnumbered. 5. Standard Weathered Bachmann (but incorrectly numbered as MHA 394170!) example with a clean patch where the EWS branding has been removed. Really need to sort that number out!!! This is the standard Bachmann model that I painted Rusty. /then coated the inside edge and corners again and filled with a little Ballast around the edges. left for 24hrs to totally cure then emptied leaving hats left. Cheers Trailrage
  24. Hello EWS60065 sorry for not responding. Been away for a few days in Devon with the Family. I'll try and get some pics over the next few days. For some strange reason I have only done one with a small amount of Ballast left in it. painted around the interior with a rust wash and put some Ballast in. When dry tipped out what didn't stick. Worked well I thought as it s in the areas that a Bucket or Grab for a Digger cannot reach. Cheers Trailrage
  25. EWS60065 WOW. That MFA looks amazing. Absolutely stunning job there. I defo need to go and redo my effort from 20 odd years ago when it first came out. Cheers Trailrage
