THE Christmas Model Railway Show - Manchester 2022!
ChrisMitchell replied to Philip1812's topic in Exhibitions
Glad I arranged my schedule to attend today. Excellent selection of layouts on show, and I thought the new venue was very good. Personal favourites were Sherton Abbas, Moors View and South Pelaw Chris- 69 replies

NER 20t Hoppers, By Accurascale
ChrisMitchell replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Hi Fran Will they be using a standard 26mm axle length, as there’s no mention in the specifications? And how about ease of conversion to EM and P4? thanks, Chris -
So, like... EM gauge and bogie diesels... is easy?

The SLW Class 25 isn’t out yet (due shortly). The chassis will be the same as their Class 24 which is superb. Here’s a picture of one of their production samples operating on Boston Frodsham a few weeks back…. -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
ChrisMitchell replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Perfect timing for my birthday!! MELD now up and running on my test plank. Looks and sounds great, though will have to reattach two of the chains to the body already. Now just need to wait for my P4 wheelsets so I can let loose on the layout. Chris -

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
ChrisMitchell replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Hi Fran So when will I be able to place an order for P4 wheels to go with my pre-order? Would be great if they can shipped to a similar timescale. regards, Chris -
Would be very happy with a re-run of the original model

Mark 2b, By Accurascale and IRM!
ChrisMitchell replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Looking at the formation guides, we definitely need Mk2a and Mk2c coaches to the same standard, and that's before we consider restaurant/buffet cars :) -
I bought one late afternoon as well, so clearly had more in stock out the back.

Hi The original wagons used on the Redcar-Consett duties were numbered in BSTE series. When those services were withdrawn, the wagons were sold and transferred to aggregates duties and were renumbered. The wagons originally introduced on the Llanwern duties were numbered in the BSSW series, whilst the Ravenscraig sets were numbered in the BRSV series (as in the A/S models). I’ve not come across anything to suggest these were renumbered when transferred to South Wales. Have a look at this summary. https://www.ltsv.com/w_profile_003.php regards, Chris

Hi. I am looking to renumber some of my PTA wagons using transfers from Railtec, so that I have different running numbers compared to a set my friend owns.. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to remove the existing numbering/TOPS panels? Should I be looking at using T-cut or something similar? Thanks, Chris

Hi Has anyone converted their wagons to P4 yet. It seems the axles are not 26mm in length, which makes things more difficult, although the website indicates the models have 26mm axles over pinpoints. This seems to be a recurring theme, as I have other wagons from Accurascale, which also did not have 26mm axles as specified. regards, Chris

Ready fitted sound with twin speakers, stay alive capacitor and the option for ready to run in P4 makes the SLW model a no brainer in my opinion. Just wish I could afford two. Chris -

Pleased they announced this now. Phoned up, talked to Phil and 25260 in 2 tone green ordered with the full works including P4 wheels. Happy to wait, as my SLW 24 is superb. I suspect Phil will be feeling quite hoarse this evening. Chris -
Mine arrived Friday and look superb. Just have to rewheel to P4, so will be ordering a pile of wheelsets later. A friend has also ordered 2 packs to give us a two rakes to run on the layout, so we will have to look at renumbering. Railtec transfers ordered already. Any thoughts on the best way to remove the existing TOPS markings? regards, Chris
