  6. has been searching for a combined fibre broadband and mobile phone deal and is utterly baffled. It seems to be 'confusion marketing'. Are there any recommendations out there or do these combinations just not exist anymore?

You have my sympathies, John. It's also impossible to find a wifi-only deal too. I don't need a bl**dy 'house' phone anymore - just wi-fi and my mobile please. But all UK providers still insist on including a landline in the deal, as if this was still the 1990s, then billing you for the extra standing 'connection charge'. Mine even included a second landline 'internet' number for "free". Thanks a bunch BT. Grrrrrrr!

  15. The next irritating expression that I will be banning by Special Decree is the phrase to 'rock up', as in meaning 'to arrive somewhere'.

      Phil Copleston

Hah! I'd add 'awesome', 'cool', 'well good' 'lol' and 'going forward' to the Good Capt'n's banned by Special Decree list. Anymore for anymore?

  16. I'd overlooked the fact that today is actually the Summer Solstice (according to the BBC, anyway), due to the leap year, but it looks as if the druids won't be at Stonehenge until tomorrow.

I'll go with the 'Peace & Cheese' and the 'Solstice greetings'. Sounds good to me. But forget the rest of the mumbo-jumbo!

Bloody late-comers! Drizzling here in Cornwall too. Anyway (speaking as a professional archaeologist), Stonehenge has nowt to do with modern 'druids (a Victorian creation). And the original Iron Age druids lived several thousand years AFTER Stonehenge was constructed, so had nowt to do with it either. But that doesn't invalidate the significance of the summer solstice or Stonehenge to ancient societies or to us. So, solstice greetings to you all!

Cornflakes more popular than Weetabix? It's a crispy vs. soggy debate...
