Just got back from the Mendip group and found my neighbour has hung a brace of pheasant outside my back door

Tonight CTMK and I saw a wonderful thing. Just on the edge of the Moor, we saw hundreds, if not thousands of swallows circling and swooping and mass-perching on electricity wires. Our friend who lives there said she thought that they were gathering to start their long migration south for the winter, but that she'd never before seen them getting ready like this. We stood and watched for several minutes and took some photos and then went back inside her cottage for literally 3 or 4 minutes...

Overtime, overtime, Overtime. Work, work, work, that all I've done for months. As a consequence I had my first stress related "attack" yesterday. These are not nice.

Soap but no water in this particular HST lavatory, the others occupied, so hands dampened by the simple expedient of putting them out of the window in the rain!

How is it possible, in the 21st Century, that one of the biggest NHS hospitals in the SW has no air conditioning in the wards, windows open only slightly, patients swelter with virtually no clothing on in their beds, and there are not even any fans available for patients running a temperature? It all seems squalid and reminiscent of the Middle Ages.
