    London transport seems to disagree..

albeit wiki is ambigious, saying the 1973 stock was delivered by 1977, but also says the 1959 stock didnt fully transfer away until 1979.

I did see 1959 stock on the Heathrow branch, usually destined for Northfields depot. I don't see any reason why they couldn't go all the way to Heathrow but this was not in any way a regular service....however....

the fact that Heathrow is a 'destination' makes me wonder if EFE / Bachmann will produce the 1973 stock down the line or whether they may go for the 2025 stock - (which will also be cascading onto other lines as well)

I guess it depends on how expensive these will be?

  2. So we are getting the EFE 1959 Tube Stock in aluminum grey with Heathrow destination boards as a London Transport Museum exclusive....but....

IIRC by the time the line was extended to Heathrow in 1977, the 1959 stock had been withdrawn from service. So perhaps Hounslow West would be a more realistic choice (what is wrong with Rayners Lane anyway?!!)

Bachmann...can we please get some directional lighting into these units please please please (wire handrails would also be nice)

  3. Having lived near to Wasps original grounds in Sudbury, you can see the complete mismanagement firsthand.

They sold their grounds off to developers upon the condition they could have an adjacent training pitch.

This meant the Borough allocated them 1/3 of the adjoining park to be fenced off.

I have never in decades seen that pitch in use, it remains overgrown to this day - effectively stolen from the local taxpayers.

  4. Try resetting the Cv but if the problem persists then unfortunately the motor driver may be burnt out yet the chip will still produce sounds.

I have a couple of chips like this and they can still be used if you are top and tailing or double heading with a dummy loco.

  5. I have taken a chance on the updated APT, by buying an NDM. (I sent my last set back as it had too many of the problems listed here)

    What an improvement

Negotiates 2nd radius curves and setrack pointwork at speed, no derailments.

Haven't tried gradients yet but doubt they will be an issue fr a 7 car set (which is what I will run)

There is now a larger lid for the DCC chip, which is 21 pin.

Well done Hornby for listening  and getting these errors fixed and thank you

Now just waiting on a bargain rake!

  6. I understand that some us would like a rake of coaches to go with two power cars - however I would be happy to sacrifice the relatively minor detail differences (doors?) between the prototype and the production Mk3, so at least I see something on my layout.

That being the case I hope that Rails of Sheffield, with an eye on sales of the power car, should put out an EOI to see if they can get enough orders to commission Hornby or Oxford Rail to do a limited edition in this livery (ideally with coaches nearer to £50) based on current toolings.

I very much doubt Bachmann will tool up Mark 3s just for the HDST but if they did they will be north of £100 each, without a doubt too much for most us to consider.
