  1. Travelling East, using the Magellan strategy NORTH HARROW
  2. I never even thought about it but it can be done... NEW CROSS GATE
  3. Picking up from Upminster to REDBRIDGE *this round the connecting words rules are in play - see post 137
  4. Well if we're out of steam and at the end of the line for this round, I'm going to call last orders at the KOKO, nearest stop - you know where! Having watched the connecting words game with some interest - does anyone want to play a connecting words / Mornington Crescent hybrid round? The rule is the last letter of the first station would be the first letter of the next. I guess every move will have to have this footnote on the bottom? *this round the connecting words rules are in play - see post 137
  5. The chances are UK leaves Brexit, everyone except England leaves the UK and I get to say 'I told you so!'
  6. Waterloo > Moorgate > Angel > Camden > Hampstead for a Royal Free Flush
  7. I remember the store in Hammersmith - it had a few components in the shop window - there was just a blank screen and there inside was just one gentleman behind a counter. You gave your order and he would disappear in the back to the stockroom - a bit like Argos. Fortunately in London we still have owner/proprietors like Cricklewood Electronics still going.
  8. Well - I am out of here! Who is for Mornington Crescent international edition? Next stop CITY AIRPORT
  9. Not before they've raided your BANK
  10. Well hermes I did see what you did there so a very Crossrail journey to BOND STREET
  11. According to my internet almanac of Very Useful Information - Enfield Town had the world's first ATM in 1967 so I suggest a quick withdrawal from zone 6 and a long diagonal to Imperial Wharf
  12. Thank you very much - bitter sweet though as no more are on sale!
  13. Yes let's not lose our heads over this! But at the risk of deja vu we were there last round (post 31) so I hope no one will complain if this round we shall say non-stopping service on all stations or connections either Regal or Eccleiastical So no Jubille or Elizabeth Lines for starters - which kind of takes out 85% of the network on to HEADSTONE LANE in memory of the unfortunates...
  14. Since 1973 (I think) Mornington Crescent had to follow the Sex Discrimination Act and I forget all the Amendments with regards to the other characteristics since then. Really I think Jamiel is opening up a can of worms by invoking the Royal Rules in the litiginous society in which we now live he might find himself in hot water in the Royal Courts - nearest stop TEMPLE
  15. In defence of those of you who are non-Royalists and are in foreboding of another Royal wedding. Its time to take the gloves off with Marquess of Queensbury rules
  16. A map, a rule book some years of experience - I'm lost
  17. Yes I agree - being bimodal it seems a no brainer to buy this model as you can run it under the wires or not.
  18. What? Di-directional? Sir I think at the very least we are playing by Johnson's rules?
  19. Isn't that move going backwards? Damn I wish I payed more attention at school I I miss a go then
  20. Considering the effort Dapol went to in order to sort out the livery errors on the Class 68, I am surprised they have not done the same with the 73. I sent back my BR blue models but have kept the GBRF one, as the warning panel is acceptable against the glare of the other colours...but please Dapol, can you at least send us two windscreen wipers - you know I would even pay for them?
  21. What is the biggest gamble here? 1/ The manufacturer intends to make a model but they don't know how many to make so they could make a loss 2/ We want a Class 88 but we don't want to put our money upfront in case we lose it in a project that fails It seems to me that both of these problems could be solved if Dapol start up a crowdfunder for the 88? Something along the lines of the SLW Class 24. Dapol get the numbers in advance and, if they are willing to be generous I am sure the cash advances too. We crowdfunders get the assurance of a reliable manufacturer There are potential losers - the box shifters - and of course there is a gamble on the exchange rate going against the investors. Whichever way you look at it - if we want to see this Class 88 made by Dapol (or any other manufacturer for that matter) then they need to be absolutely certain they can make as many and sell as many as possible and the only way they can do that is to engage with the buyers directly the same way SLW have done. My fear is that manufacturers like Dapol are going to continue to release as few models as possible. The UK economy is in very choppy waters at present. Saying that they are really showcasing themselves - Dapol seem determined to be manufacturer of the year - and in OO they would certainly get my vote (despite my own disappointment with the 73). I like the way they took on something as mundane as a DMU and the latest 68 and went to town on both. So come on Dapol - talk to us!
