  1. Look at the exhaust from the v2 still lingering in the background because of the cold air! Cracking pics. Cheers

  3. Hi dave Thanks again for posting! Lovely pics from all over the country, really intresting to see the ones from ais gill as im currently building a layout of the place. Cheers Ben
  4. Just had a quick look at the build of that viaduct jeff. Its a work of art! Youve made it look very easy! Makes me want to build one! Cheers Ben
  5. Cracking work jeff, really starting to take shape now. That viaduct is a lovely piece of modelling and very well built. Is it made from a plywood shell? I wouldnt know where to start, trying to build one and bending plywood! Cheers Ben
  6. Weve got a few locos in common then mike We'll have to start a separate thread sometime, especially when the time comes when jeff's layout kl2 has become more nearer to complete. Not sure what to call the thread?... It may look very odd & train set looking when it comes to ais gill though and the track has switched to peco code 100! Ha ha. We just need to someone to model settle station & ribblehead viaduct now!! Cheers Ben
  7. Ahhh thats a great idea mike! We could start a separate thread, anyone with a certain layout of the s&c route joins in! Although my layout certainly aint finished ive got about 16 foot of scenic section almost complete. My stock list isnt that big at the moment. Hornbys latest duchess "city of bradford" in maroon Bachmann v2 green arrow Bachmann b1 lined black Bachmann wd but unweathered! Bachmann 4mt ivatt lined black Bachmann jubilee,br green & weathered.looks very much like yours but its named "achillies" No one will notice! Hornby super detailed weathered black 5 Bachmann class 25 br green Bachmann peak in br blue. Bachmann class 47 in br green. Thats about it for locos at the moment. Could be an interesting idea mike Cheers Ben
  8. Love this layout, especially as its only down the line from my layout! Ha ha! Cheers Ben
  9. Lovely pics as always dave Thanks for sharing Just wondering what the view is like now at pilmoor? Been looking on google earth and like everywhere else in this country seems to be overgrown, wonder if its spoilt the view from the lineside? Ive never been to that location, but only live about an hour away so might have a look sometime. Cheers Ben
  10. Nice work on the yard jeff, even looks good at this early stage with the viaduct in the background. Not long now before something is running! Cheers Ben
  11. Superb photos of dent mike Really is a stunning layout Cheers Ben
  12. Nice work! Really coming along So you didnt fancy scratch building the monster tees flyover then?!! Ha ha! Cheers Ben
  13. Thanks lads, much appreciated. Jock...sounds like you had a cracking childhood! Cheers Ben
  14. Just read the article in brm Really good write up & and very realistic photos! Cheers Ben
  15. Cheers john I agree with you,but then on the flipside i also like dirty grimey locos on freight! Must invest in an airbrush! Cheers Ben
  16. Cheers andy & jeff. The natural morning sunlight coming through the velux windows totally makes all the difference. Looks so much better than the spotlights that are up there. Just a shame theres only windows in the loft on one side of the roof,so by about mid day the sun has moved around the front of the house. Cheers Ben
  17. Just had a look from where i get them from.. Ceg.model.railway in cheshire is the seller of them. Not sure if they make them or get them from elsewhere?
  18. The walls are from a model shop seller via ebay. Can't remember the sellers name at the moment, dont even know who makes them. They come with small square sections on the ends of them to link with another piece but i cut them off with a junior hacksaw as i think the "join" isnt very realistic. Yes,then i cut any sections up with the hacksaw to follow the contours of the land. Cheers
  19. Great progess, makes me wish i had put cork down before track to get a realistic shoulder when the ballast is down! Yer live & learn i suppose! Cheers Ben
  20. Quick early morning visit at ais gill... A very clean! WD on a coal train View from the bridge... That duchess again! On a WCML early diversion Cheers.
  21. Nice work jeff coming along great Cheers Ben
  22. This pic from flickr reminds me that i must put an interior inside the signal box Another job to do!
  23. Another corner of the layout almost finished... Plenty of sheep! The farmer looks over his flock! Need to weather the box far too clean! The ballast also needs weathering on the entire layout,i'll have to invest in an airbrush & have a practice. Not many trains today at ais gill! So far thats about 16 feet of scenery almost done. Theres about another 5 foot that needs doing,no rush though. As always plenty to do and think about! Static grass, weathering the ballast, hangmans bridge to be scratch built etc etc... Cheers Ben
  24. Well done on the magazine feature, aint seen it yet but will have to buy it. Cheers Ben
