  1. Everytime i go to ais gill summit, guarantee i'll see some sort of farmer, landrover etc,I personally dont think its too cliche. I took this a couple of years ago, although they obviously didnt have quad bikes in the 60s to do it... Took this shot as well at ais gill a few years ago, driving on the road to the right of the pic is a landrover pulling a trailer full of hay bales. Cheers Ben
  2. Stunning work there jeff! Just needs a farmers landrover bimbling along that lane. Cheers ben
  3. Thats great jeff, much appreciated pal. Cheers Ben
  4. Looking forward to more progress jeff. Can i kindly ask jeff, what products and techniques you use for your static grass? Do you use normal pva glue? Watered down? I done a test piece today on a bit of polystyrene, used watered down pva, brass pin on the end of my cheap flyswater type of applicator.....and it just looks a mess! Hardly any of the fibres are stood up,most are laid down in the glue, very annoying as its sort of stopping me from progessing with the layout. The applicator certainly charges up,as i can hear it when pressing the button and it gives a spark when i earth it to the pin. Appreciate any help or tips if you can jeff. Cheers Ben
  5. Lovely work jeff,at that camera level it looks very realistic and looks like the road runs for miles! Cheers Ben
  6. The latest work is superb jeff! It's certainly making me want to "up my game" with the ais gill layout im building! Youve made it very realistic looking,i can predict a magazine feature coming in the future! Cheers Ben

  11. Stunning work! Really like the way how you describe how you're actually making things, very useful. Cheers Ben
  12. Cheers mike! Lol I'll give that method a go when the time comes. Cheers Ben
  13. Just a thought...can you use a very fine needle to thread the cotton through the posts?... or would the hole in the post be huge to do that?
  14. Cheers for the info on the measurements of planting the posts jeff,i was actually wondering that! Cheers Ben
  15. Nice work on the wire fencing jeff, youve made a good job of that. Im planning on having quite a bit of wire fencing on ais gill so i'll give your method a try, rather than buying the ratio kit stuff. Be a lot cheaper to just buy a box of matches! Cheers Ben
  16. Little bit more progress Done another 10' of double track weathering with the airbrush this afternoon, then had enough of it! Cheers
  17. Stunning bit of work jeff! When complete(not that a layout ever is!) its going to make some cracking photos. Cheers Ben

  19. That grass looks great jeff, something ive never tried using is static grass, once bought a cheap applicator off ebay, tried it & had no joy with it,just made a mess! Walling looks fantastic as always pal. Cheers Ben
  20. Great work on the ballast jeff, youve made a nice job of that. Cheers Ben
  21. Cheers jeff,i find using the airbrush quite enjoyable & easy, its just the dismantling of it to clean it after use which bugs me! Essential as it is. Cheers Ben
  22. Ha ha! That mess & all things i need is slowly moving around the layout as it progresses! Cheers Ben
  23. Done a bit more on the layout last sunday after a few months of doing nothing to it due to work, family etc, basically not having the time. Started to weather and grime up the ballast/track,done about 6 foot so far, only another 20 foot to go! Cheers Ben.
  24. Superb work again jeff on the greenery, looking very realistic! Cant remember if ive asked you before? Apologies if i have! What type of static applicator are you using? Ive never had any success with the cheap ebay one i bought a few years ago. Get what yer pay for I suppose! Cheers Ben
