  1. I would be fascinated to understand how those who are not in favour of restrictions believe the NHS will be able to cope with the resulting no. of people who get ill. We are already at a point where according to information leaked to the HSJ hospitals in London will be overwhelmed.
  2. Watching the best live stream I have ever seen the sound quality is absolutely amazing and cheese and port add to the ambience. Skerryvore live on New Years Day have absolutely nailed it
  3. Is this not a rather worrying state of affairs, surely emergency supplies must be sent for?
  4. Happy New Year to one and all a few thankfully short fireworks and then peace returned.
  5. I hope everyone has as a good day and let's hope for a better 2021. I'm off to take the dog for a walk and then back for bacon sarnies and the rare treat of full fat coffee.
  6. Closing customers’ accounts has become necessary due to Brexit and the fact that the UK will no longer be part of the European Economic Area (EEA) after 31 December. Where UK banks had been able to use the same regulatory framework for all EEA companies under an arrangement known as ‘passporting’, this will no longer be possible after the Brexit transition period is over without a specific arrangement as part of a withdrawal deal. This means UK banks have to make sure they operate within the various regulatory frameworks of each EU country in order to continue to serve any customers living there; being able to do so is very complicated, and depends on the types of products on offer, the bank’s business model and the regulator’s rules in each country.
  7. Kate Rusby has also done a version on her album Holly Head which we enjoyed on her live stream concert on Saturday.
  8. Much the same here Rodney's Pillar and The Breiddens have disappeared into the murk and looking at the forecast seem unlikely to reappear today.
  9. Some good news. The sister in law of our neighbours has just had the coronavirus vaccine. She is shielding at the moment and is the first person we know to have had it. Everything was very well organised at the hospital and she was kept in for an hour to check she had no adverse reaction.
  10. Have you tried issuing a DMCA takedown notice? You can find templates on the web. If you have a Flickr pro account as one of the benefits you can have up to a thousand images monitored by Pixsy. They will flag up any ripped off images and if you want they will issue DMCA takedown notices on your behalf. This has certainly worked well for me with people lifting my images and republishing as their own on Instagram. Normally get confirmation of removal in a couple of days. Chris
  11. I think the 1100 was the same as your Mums Mini
  12. My local tyre place in Oswestry was about £70 a tyre cheaper than main dealer and £12 less than Blackcircles. Now can I use the "saving" to justify a new loco. They also had the tyres available for 8.30 this morning although I only phoned them yesterday late afternoon. Must be honest still amazed that the car did 21000 miles before it needed its first service. First car I had a, five year old 1966 Austin 1100, seemed to need a service every other week.
  13. I now need a long rest in a very dark room. Just had to buy four new tyres for the car
  14. Would be a good name for a little branch line layout......
  15. Indeed but before the current craziness I loved to revist old haunts in both cities. Chris
  16. Liverpool is my second favourite UK city after my hometown of London where I grew up just around the corner from Waterloo Station. I spent ten great years working in Liverpool in the naughties. Chris
  17. That should keep you going until a late elevenses
  18. I think the worst teacher in my senior school life was a Glaswegian teacher who taught French. To be honest most of us struggled to understand him when he spoke English, let alone French. He was permanently miserable and I really don't think had an ounce of humour in his bones.
  19. That reminds me of our Economics teacher in 6th form. He was new to the school and a bit of a revelation compared to other teachers.
  20. Natural light works so well. The photos are great but agree with you about the last one it looks superb. Chris
  21. I only travelled with Ryanair once, that was once too often. The customer service was non existent and the flights in both directions were almost three hours late. I have always found Easyjet to be OK but my favourite short haul airline is Jet 2. From memory most of the Jet 2 fleet are 737-800's of varying ages. The crews are great and they have a dedicated check in area st Manchester that works well.
  22. Certainly very happy with mine. I have had it for two years and is working well.
  23. Ooh Curved Air I haven't listened to for ages thanks for the memory jog. And a happy mid morning birthday
