  1. Interesting that you say that. Around here it is relatively quiet, no queues for M&S or Sainsbury's and the garden centre was virtually empty on our flying visit to get some dog food. The door marshal at M&S said it was much quieter than last time. Stay safe all.
  2. I guess it is very reassuring to know that "Postage will be by Hermes Tracked delivery at no extra cost to the buyer." I would have thought he could have got another few hundred quid for the postage
  3. Thats looking good @TechnicArrow . I agree with @Karl about higher than wide look. What is the backscene you used on Arrow Paints? Looking forward to seeing more.
  4. Well that was rather painless, went shopping to Sainsbury's and M&S no queues and everything we wanted other than the key item M&S apple turnovers which had all gone . We had to settle for Sainsbury's ones........
  5. That is as I believe they say in the SW a proper job. Makes our leaf storage rather puny.
  6. After a "successful" round one of leaf day yesterday I am informed round two starts today..... Apparently we need lots more leaf mulch as I am reliably informed it will be beneficial for the next growing season. Where it comes to gardens I am absolutely useless and just do what I am told.
  7. Machine gun posts this time, or is that a bit OTT.
  8. Hi @Happy Hippo does the BRMC have a website anymore ? Regards Chris
  9. I was looking around about a club and that's very handy thanks. Will investigate in more detail. Last time I was a member of a model railway club was in early 1980's in London.
  10. I thought it was just me lol
  11. Not that far from Oswestry HH
  12. Thanks @Ohmisterporter , I'm steadily building up a list of threads to follow. Some remarkable modelling goes on here. Chris
  13. I did like the bit when they said they would send out the best ones first.......
  14. £55 for an Airfix Bungalow seem rather optimistic to say the least. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRAINS-BUNGALOW-HO-OO-GAUGE-SCALE-MODEL-KIT-MADE-BY-AIRFIX/192372520394?hash=item2cca4bb5ca:g:RHMAAOSwu4BV3mZ3
  15. Nothing boring there Karl. Keep up the good work and let us see the next box layout as it develops. Chris
  16. Just returned from Costco at Chester and M&S at Cheshire Oaks. Seemed to have a full selection of products and not that busy. Maybe many folk are still using last lockdowns stock pile.
  17. Hi Karl They look great, I'll do some shots of what I am working on when I get a chance. I know exactly what you mean about photography. With a model railway the close in shot works so well. Regards Chris
  18. Hi Karl You have really captured the feel of a dockside layout it looks great and I love the photos. You have given me the inspiration to start work on restoring a dockside layout I acquired a little while ago. Chris
  19. Really enjoying this thread Pete. Thanks for the inspiration. Chris
  20. Hi to everyone, I've been lurking in the background for a while and finally decided to get a bit more involved. I started my model railway journey in London where I lived for the first 22 years and built a little 009 layout that I had fun with whilst having a Saturday job at Beatties in Holborn from 1968 until the early 1970's. Girls, college and cars intervened (not necessarily in that order all the time). In the 1990's I built a layout for the kids and then nothing until the past couple of years. Looking around for a project I bought a secondhand 9ft x 2ft dock layout from eBay which had been originally built to a lovely standard many years ago. It now needs rather a lot of restoration and I have just started the initial task of stripping back the electrics as no control panel or wiring diagram existed and I would like to operate it on DCC. Enjoying the challenges so far and learning a great deal from this forum, been absolutely blown away by the quality of the modelling I've seen. Thanks for reading if you have got this far and and I look forward to catching up with you in the future. Cheers Chris
