  1. I was just going to suggest Really Usefull 10l boxes with marker pen notes on the lids. Then I saw locos live in them.
  2. Read Eric Browns biography, that was interesting.
  3. Just seen this has been resurrected. Can I ask some questions? How and when did you know you were transexual? Just curious so I can understand more about it. All I do know is that it is normally related to hormones in the womb.
  4. Heaven Sent was the best episode since Blink, Human Nature, Family of Blood, then Blink were the best run of episodes.
  5. Nissans premium badge is GT-R. I quite like the Stinger, shows the Koreans are getting better. Honda is just Honda, nothing wrong with the name, I know a few Civic fans, their image issue is the wrinklies in small ones.
  6. Pity about the banger racing, those 1600s were rather tunable. More fun as a back road blaster.
  7. Or all Skodas? Audi have lost that individuality they used to have, now they are just a posh VW
  8. The writing seems to polarise a lot, some people think it is excellent, others poor, very few think quite good. Acting is OK, nothing wrong there, but just stop preaching at me! Seen reviews saying best episode of new Who, perhaps they never saw Blink.
  9. It was OK, not that good. Most Christmas specials are to be honest naff. But wasn't the point of the Dalek machines that the creatures inside were weak and fragile?
  10. They did start a modernised range but this was not enough. (Avenger) The Avenger was actually a really good car.
  11. I do not like the badge or brand, NOTHING wrong with admitting it and saying TOYOTA. I call them Toyota Lexuses or use the Japanese model name. Yes they are all sold in Japan as Toyotas
  12. I remember the following types of trains Sets were usually WR or ER for NESW and MR for NWSW. NWSW were often Mark 1s, but 2A 2C rakes seen as well with Mark 1 RMB Seen Mark 1, Mark 2B, 2D (ER), 2D E F (WR) for NESW Locos south of Birmingham were a mix of 45, 45/1, 46, 47 and odd 50, 86/2 on NWSW services. Eventually it was HST
  13. The loco with the family name of a TV motoring presenter
  14. This has only just come live, was posted yesterday, Andy Y probably had better (drinking?) things to do.
  15. I know, Escort was smallest model when Mk1 now Focus has 2 smaller cars under it. Did you know that Ford created a Focus group to name cars, products are Focus, Ka and Mondeo - I have noted they are now up to Thursdeo
  16. Very annoying as well Devalues a brand. Takes around 10 years a cycle but Executive style car, big saloon, eg Granada, Omega, Volvo 7xx 9xx, big roomy cars (these get dropped) Normal car, Mondeo, Vectra coathook, and so on (these bloat to similar sizes as above but are more ordinary) Family hatch (Scrote, Focus, Ashtray), these grow into normal size Small car, Fiesta, Corsa etc, these are now as big as family hatches. New car to replace small car, eg Ka, Opel Adam (anyone notice they are getting bigger, Opel is bigger than a Nova already) In 20 years the big cars will be grown up from the current family hatches,
  17. What is surprising is how small some cars are inside. I currently have a Discovery, feels huge but isn't. Roomy for passengers but rear space not. However managed to get 34 packs of wood flooring in it in 2017, 400kg as well. Just fitted lengthways. But then it is not that big a car outside either. About the same length as a BMW Mini. For carrying room the older Volvo estates were excellent.
  18. A lot better than later ones.
  19. Done a search. Bit poor, not even Desmodronic
  20. Odd though a bit insulting to Ducati
  21. Why is Ducati mentiond in the middle of a car name? Was it a Desmodronic V twin?
  22. 170,000 and bores were like new, a GM V6, only issue was huge dent in side caused by a disintegrating BMW
  23. Here are mine Finish my GRCW 119 DMU Get hold of Brian from Shawplan for a LOT of etches and glazing Complete my two aircon sets. So 1 DMU, a 47, 6 aircon vehicles and a 2C. Will I get them done?
  24. Does anyone else find the enforced jolliness on New Year grating? I will admit I do,
  25. Kitchens Spent this Christmas repairing the washing machine and repairing the floor. I do know whats in it as I have to look after it. My ideal time off is modelling, interspersed with shooting aliens in the face, not dismantling our washing machine! Our children ask why our PC is hanging out of its case. Because I fitted a water cooler (fan failed and it is so quiet) and that since I spend all day programming I don't want to spend leisure time on PCs, (not even alien shooting, so I get consoles from my TV and Video Camera manufacturers.), working on PCs to me is work and that to me means being paid to do it. Look I have about 10 hobbies and I will pursue them, and some merge. Sometimes I will look at real trains, sometimes model them, I enjoy travelling to new places and exploring, I love reading, I enjoy gaming, I take pictures and video, I even like working on my car when weather is nice and job is not too awkwards. I find doing different things keeps things fresh and more enjoyable, some of my hobbies do get some flack, like why waste time on a TV shooting aliens when I could be watching soaps? (My answer is why waste time watching soaps - usual reply from people is nothing else to do.)
