  1. It is indeed Jason, although Richard added a few extra details I believe! I'll ask him next time I get down his way! I waited for years to get my hands on one, so if Bachmann (or Hornby) announce one now I'd probably have to take up duck-warbling to recover from the shock! (After I've picked up the Class 5 and Porthole stock of course!) If your considering photo-editing software have a look at Coral's Paint Shop Pro Photo first. Way cheaper than Photoshop and it does everything you could want from it. Photoshop is good, I've used it for years, but I've never used more than a quarter of it's capabilities, a lot of which are pretty obscure. Plus the fact that at £600+ it's rediculously expensive. You can usually find Coral PSP Photo at PC World at a good discount. Bill
  2. Hey! Give over! You'll have me raising the hills around Theakestone before I even get the track down! I hope you've kept enough money back for a rake of Bachmann's porthole stock for that Jubilee to pull. Lovely stuff by all accounts and due January/February! I must admit I could'nt resist and pre-ordered a rake so I'll be laying seige to my local model shop for the next few weeks. Andy P Lunester badges are free to all Lunesters, I'll PM you one over with your very own name on it. You can print it out on sticky-back paper, stick it on your anarak, on your layout or sellotape it to your forehead. If you print it on suitable card you could even scratch-build with it! Versatile and guaranteed to take years off you to boot! Regards to all Bill
  3. Long distance information give me Memphis, Tennessee...
  4. Now that sounds like my idea of heaven! The sound of a hard working locomotive echoing across the Pennine hills long before it comes into sight around the curve, rattles through the station and heads off across the viaduct! I've got to confess I'm positively drooling here.... Bill
  5. Underneath the lamplight, by a factory gate...
  6. ...and when you come down, you find you're a stranger in town...
  7. Hee Hee! No Jeff - definitely not intended to be you. It turned out that with over 16,000 3D models in stock she's the only one I have with a suitable outfit. Typical!!!!! I've just had the thought that having the outline of a loco behind her would be more appropriate, perhaps a 9F if I can find one free of copyright. Perhaps Rob would be interested? The name at the top can be changed to the name/pseudonym/obscenity (?????) of your choice. Given the current topic (ballasting) I could even produce a limited edition in shades of turn-the-air-blue! Hi Billy Well I started it did'nt I? So I'd better show willing. Square version coming up! Regards to all Bill
  8. Hi Jeff and fellow Lunesters I had some time free this afternoon while my chocolate-crazed grandaughters were out invading Lancaster with their parents, so I had a play with an official logo for the Lunesters. After all this thread is as much a social event in addition to offering some excellent modelling advice. I hope you guys will let me have your opinions, etc (but not too rude please). After all if you're going to be a Lunester you should have a badge! Regards Bill
  9. A woman with a knife, she'll carve away your life, go! go! go!
  10. And another fine shot of a cracking engine sir! They really do make a difference don't they? I hope you realise I'm getting a bit jealous now. So much so that I'm going to have to stop work on my good shed and go play trains for a while. (Some chance!) Must go. The youngest grandaughter Lucy is demanding Shaun the Sheep videos and she's getting quite insistant! (Like hitting me most severely with dolly!) Many thanks Bill
  11. Thanks Jason Now theres a thought. I've got the Stanier and Fairburn 2-6-4T's to do as well (plus front steps for the Fairburn if I can find them!). Looks like I'm going to have to come up with a list before I go and bug Richard at The Train Shop. Again! (I bought a shed-load of wagon kits just before Christmas so he's already low on wagon wheels (Hee Hee) Bill
  12. I'll add my vote to Jeff, bluebottle and westerner. A cracking shot of Staniers finest (that's my opinion anyway) design. LMS freight power in typical workaday condition! Please tell, where the Romford wheels on the front bogie a simple job. As you say they are a big improvement on the Hornby effort. Also a vote for the station platform. It's amazing how the addition of details like the lamps help it spring to life! You've probably seen the L&Y platform seats from Southwark Bridge Models in L&Y Magazine 250. They'd make a worthy addition to Bacup. Regards Bill
  13. Hi Jason Welcome back to the real world and hope you and your lady had an excellent Crimbo! I’ve just been reading your posts over on Jeff’s thread and thought I’d be mean and remind you of the one you missed! L&Y Class 27 0-6-0 3F. Almost as numerous as Crab’s and allocated to virtually every local shed. Bacup had six until they moved to Lower Darwen in the early 50’s. This is Lower Darwen’s 52523 which was a favourite engine and shed ‘pet’ until it moved to Bolton in 1955 (and then spent it’s days on trip workings to Blackburn Daisyfield yard!). Apologies for the crappy (hand-held macro) photo! This one is a brass-built example commissioned by me and paid for by my daughters. Best Christmas present ever! Regards Bill
  14. ...and she's building a stairway to heaven...
  15. After two days of hugs and kisses the grandaughters have decided today is let's bash grandad day. Time to hide behind the settee methinks!

  16. Hi Jeff Hope Crimbo went well. Looking forward to the bunker yet? Bill
  17. Woman go crazy for a sharp-dressed man...
  18. So you think you're having good times with a boy that you just met...
  19. Weeelllll! I can run through my scales and still have (approximately) the same number of fingers afterwards. As for resembling the hallowed one, I'm afraid that stops at the hair! Come to think of it modelling is way more fun, plus you get to sit down doing it. I actually started a goods shed (Holmfirth) this morning then the family, including the Canadian contingent, arrived so I got dragged off to see Father Christmas by the grandkids. I am now officially kn*****red! Scheme on and prosper Bill
  20. Hi Jeff and fellow Lunesters Just caught up with the band idea. Excellent idea and I would like to put my name down for the position of 'the other one'. A traditional and vital position in any band. For instance there's Status Quo with Francis Rossi, Alan Lancaster, Rick Parfitt and the other one. Then there was Free with Paul Kossoff, Paul Rodgers,Simon Kirke and the other one. Finally of course there was Deep Purple, the most famous of the lot, who had so many ‘other one’s’ they’ve got an entry in the Guiness Book of Records. I'm quite presentable and come complete with my own black Stratocaster. I've even got the same hairstyle as Mr. Gilmour! After all with the esteemed Andy P on lead how fast (oops!) I mean how can it go wrong? Regards Bill
  21. So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybodies having fun..... HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A SPLENDID NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Bill
