Or go "kill or cure", buy a 40' freight liner and attempt to fill it with 4mm/1' versions. You could also build a layout in there while waiting for the collection to grow

  13. Very nice, you have a cracking layout on the go. Im looking forward to more updates
  14. Quite a few very interesting old photos on here. I especially like the ones of Guide Bridge, Dinting and Hadfield. Its good to see how they once were 20 or so years ago. Personally id like the Woodhead line to stay closed as I dont see any real reasons to reopen it. Also I much prefer it as a place to take the dog or go for a run then a place that I can travel to Sheffield on. Its a beautiful place that a railway would spoil.
  15. You have a lot of potential with your layout, I like what you have done with it so far. Loving your fleet of 60s, makes me want one even more now!!! Looking forward to watching its development
  16. Quite a few interesting ideas brought up about possible services at/through Guide Bridge. I can see more services using the line through Guide Bridge from Manchester Piccadilly since work has started on electrifying it towards Leeds. I only hope that the line dosent extend any further than Hadfield as I belive the Woodhead line should stay closed. Id rather it be a place to take the dog or go for a run than a way to travel to Sheffield.
  17. Yeah theres still a lot of junk lying around on the car park side of the station. Its my local station and I use it 2 or 3 times a week, its interesting to see the old platforms just filled in with dirt and used as overgrown waste land. I dont know what they could do with the land other than enlarge the carpark or create a bigger Network Rail depot. Although moving and increasing the size of the ballast stockpile area could be a realistic option.
  18. Its such a shame to see the state of this station now, I would love to have visited it in its hey day when it was bursting with trains and passengers. It has been great reading all the information people have provided. I dont look at it the same when im there now
  19. Nice to see your progres mate, ive been following your layout on Youtube for quite a while now. Never knew you had lots more detail and updates on here
