      Horse, Why do you shoot nuts? Nutcrackers split the shells perfectly and are much quieter I find.

      Trouble is, nutcrackers are very rare birds in the UK. Decent chance of seeing them in places like the Alps, though.

    Today I saw Bagpuss, in the flesh, or rather in the fabric, rather than on film. Also a couple of the Clangers and the drawings for Ivor the Engine. On display at the V&A Bethal Green for a few weeks.

    Faster than Mallard on the ECML today. Touched 130 several times on a fantastic run from York to London. Those old 125s can still cut it.
