  1. Continuing the wagon theme (Other things are going on in the background!!!).................. 2 x JLTRT Kit built BR Std Banana Vans. Finished in BR Bauxite livery and using Railtec Transfers. Numbered as B881716 and B882094 The vans have been built using Peartree 3-hole disc wagon wheels, sprung buffers and sprung instanter couplings. The vans have been weathered as well used examples and are available!!! Jinty
  2. Hi Gazza, Simply painted over I'm afraid. I've found it difficult to remove the Heljan printed panels without damaging, or going through to the plastic. I've re-numbered a few by just removing the unwanted numbers by gentle scratching, but even then it's very easy to go through. Jinty
  3. Hi Peter, Contact Dave directly at sales@skytrex.com and he will be able to oblige. I've contacted him to see if they are on-going and he said they will be, but he has to re-do the moulds quite often, so batches could be sporadic. Jinty
  4. Well a couple of the Skytrex PCA's fell out of the box they were delivered in today!!! Peartree wheels and Railtec transfers. The bodies aren't fixed on yet and the buffers and couplings have yet to be fitted, but I thought it was worth a pose on the plank! Next is to weather these up as medium dirty examples, straight out of the cement works!!! Jinty
  5. We are seriously here!!! But I've got to say, I too had the Honda 250G5 but in green, I then went up to a Suzuki GS550, which was a nice reliable bike. I've also recently had a Yamaha YZF Thunderace in my early 40's for fun, but decided to get rid before my wife became a widow!!! As for cars, the amount of Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts I've had is obscene, especially with what they are worth now The best though, was a genuine Mk1 Twin Cam (K reg if I remember correctly). I also sprayed a Robin for a friend once in Yellow, and I remember it was the brightest wedge of cheese I'd ever seen!!! I've also recently acquired a Mk2 MX5 to play around with, certainly an engaging drive, and looking forward to exploring our North Welsh hills with it over the winter! Jinty
  6. Oh how I wish I had a few of the cars now that I've cast off in the past!!! Jinty
  7. No you didn't imagine that, I had a Bond Bug on a motorcycle licence until I passed my car test. As far as reverse gear was concerned, there was one in the gearbox, but there had to be a physical obstruction stopping you selecting it for it to be legal. Although, we nearly all had false or easily removable ones. Now a Bug certainly was a handful at anything over 40mph!!! A very wayward front wheel, which followed just about any alteration in the road surface, and at any speed!!! Jinty
  8. They have Andy, both gone already. Five to do, well come on then, get your finger out, I could of built a platform in the time it's taken you to weather those!!!! Early Christmas trees they are!!! Just a touch of pruning and a few baubles and they'll look great! Thanks for the comments guys Jinty
  9. Here are another couple of wagons off the workbench. Both Heljan, another ZDA, CIVIL LINK branding removed and the 'Dutch' yellow re-applied with Fox Overhead Warning Flashes. Then there is one of their Class B tanks, 'MOBIL', 'Charrington' branding. Given some moisture spills and traces down the tank sides and then some general road dirt and some spot rusting areas. Both of these vehicles are available if anyone is interested. Jinty
  10. Now that's what you call playing trains, and aside from all the moaning about dimensions, shapes and rivets, not much else matters when you can have fun like that!!!!! Great video Andy Jinty
  11. Not trying to teach Grandma to suck eggs, as you're far more qualified than I am, but I've found a good 10K resistor gives a nice soft glow to the LED lights. That's what I've used on my locos where I've fitted LED's and also my brake vans I've fitted lighting to. The shed atmosphere is certainly getting there. It looks fantastic with the lighting too, especially as Felix suggested above, the staircase with the lamp above. Jinty
  12. Not sure Don, But we get around 50Mbps download, not sure what our upload is. The unit in the house is a BT Openreach unit prior to the Sky router, so would say that it is still a BT line in. Jinty
  13. Sorry to hear this Steve, but perfectly understandable. As mentioned above, hope you can get something more manageable underway soon. Jinty
  14. You certainly have an issue Andy, I have fibre BB here and a 15 minute video takes about 20 minutes, and that's whilst other people in the household are using it for Netflix, PS4, Smartphones, etc. I'm with Sky and I've never had an issue (apart from the bill which I've just had reduced by about 20% as I threatened to leave!!!) with buffering or with streaming films through Netflix or LoveFilm, and with PS4's and 3's on the go, yes that is download, but all this can carry on whilst I upload a 15 min video in about 20mins!!! Change provider, get yourself a better deal, Plusnet is supposed to be quite good as well! Jinty
  15. I did forget to mention, a little safety warning. You do need a mask for painting, and good ventilation, as it is quite potent stuff!!! Jinty
  16. You've already supplied for the class 20 and 25 of Andy's, to me!!!! Rapid dispatch on this mornings order as well I must say, and considering it was a custom numbering order too!!! Jinty
  17. Sorry, wrong picture. This is what should of been shown!!! Sorry about the thread hijack George!!! Jinty
  18. That's correct, but as for the mix, I start at 50/50 but some paints, such as Railmatch and car shop celly that I have mixed, have to be thinned a little more. Basically thin the paint so the consistency is like milk, and nice steady even coats to start with through the airbrush. I only go for a 'gun finish' coat at the very last pass. George has got a lovely finish on that wagon. I am somewhat lazy with painting sometimes, so colours such as Bauxite are finished with Red Primer only. This is when I tend to be weathering the wagon, as it doesn't show through, also when you look at a real train of bauxite wagons, they are all different colours. Here is a JLTRT Ex LMS Vent Van that has been finished with Halfords Red Primer only, and then weathered Hope that all helps Jinty
  19. Very nice George, how did you get on with the celly thinners then? I can see it in the background, lurking! Jinty
  20. Hi all, I'm looking to build a couple of PCA Depressed Vee tanks and have a couple of questions on the wheel sizes and braking types. 1. What is the disc wheel size for this wagon, 2'10" or 3'1"? 2. What style of brakes did these have? I've seen most with traditional brake shoes, but I also know PH design produces disc brake inserts for the PCA. Here is what I'm looking to represent. This one has brake shoes. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/pc009h Thanks in advance for any help Jinty
  21. Nice job on those cassettes George, should be nice and sturdy for use. Jinty
