  1. Morning All, As it was such a nice day yesterday, we went for a walk at the Mytchett Canal Centre on the Basingstoke Canal in west Surrey. This gave me the opportunity to try out my new phone: TTFN, Ron.

  5. I've just learnt that the guitarist is Dick Taylor who was a schoolfriend of Mick Jager and Keith Richard; they formed a group which later became the Rolling Stones. Dick Taylor left, but later he formed another group, the Pretty Things. In this clip The Hillmans play 'Not Fade Away' which was a big hit for The Stones in 1964 and, prior to that, Buddy Holly in 1957: TTFN, Ron.

I have now edited the first part of Sunday's footage and this is a ride from New Romney to Dungeness behind the Krupp Pacific No.11 BLACK PRINCE: I spent much of the Sunday at Dungeness and the footage that I shot there will appear on YouTube in due course - as will the footage of the final train of the weekend which had six engines, all steam, on a 22 carriage train...   14. Evening All, Here's a short clip of 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA at Peterborough at the end October, 1994. It had been visiting the Nene Valley Railway and was on its way back to London King's Cross: TTFN, Ron.

  16. Evening All, The final instalment of my video footage from the Saturday is now on YouTube. It shows the Grand Finale of the day's running which was two trains running in parallel from Hythe to New Romney - and both were triple-headed! They arrived at New Romney side-by-side and accompanied by fireworks and a cacophony of whistling.   22. As it was a nice, bright, sunny day today, we went for a walk in the new Hartland Country Park which is in Fleet, Hampshire. And, whilst there, I took the opportunity to try out the camera on my new smart phone: Hope they're of interest. TTFN, Ron.
  23. A brief trip back to a rainy evening in October, 1994 and a couple of InterCity 225s calling at Peterborough: There aren't many of these left now as they have mostly been replaced by the Hitachi Class 800 Azumas. TTFN, Ron.
