It seems to have been unexpected by some of the design staff at oxford as well. The frame is 57ft but has trusses to 60ft dimensions. I think all the announced numbers are for 60ft versions The underframe is also a welded one which due to the earlier conversion date of the 57ft versions, would be rare if they existed at all.
  2. I used a piece cut from the corner of an Oxford diecast display case.

Some certainly had the Motorail boards, so I would assume are in rail blue.https://www.flickr.com/photos/davidwf2009/5537139557/in/pool-2259775@N23/
  4. But surely anyone capable of enlarging the windows is capable of fileing some clear plastic to fit.
  5. J715 Is a 113 with the 4 panel headcodes, and is formed with 2 DMBS as two of the DMC had been withdrawn due to an accident and a fire.
  6. DMBS M51174-51203 and DTCL M56332-56361 were delivered new to the Midland region in 1958-9, other Metro-Cammell sets were 3-car, lightweight or Rolls Royce engined so don't match the Bachmann version.
  7. Yes they did.http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brmotorail/e2d73cef7
  8. They look more like Gloucester mk4 and Gloucester GPS which are correct for these tanks
  9. I think that would be the Felixstowe internal use tractor units that were yellow with a red band

    I think it is a Boyertown Battronichttp://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/b/boyertown/boyertown.htm
  11. B494990 is diagram 1/044, there is a photo of this wagon in An Illustrated History of BR Wagons, it is unfitted 2 shoe Morton braked with metalwork painted grey and unpainted planking, with split spoked wheels. M424330 is LMS diagram 2150, there is a photo in An Illustrated History of LMS Wagons vol 1 of M424333 it is unfitted 2 shoe Morton braked with metalwork painted LMS bauxite and unpainted planking, with 3 hole disk wheels So it looks like Dapol are using the correct underframe for the numbers chosen but quoting the wrong diagrams in the description
  12. I don't think they are military vehicles, they appear to have two windows in the side, and note the yellow panels on the rear. They are BR leyland FG crew buses.
  13. But it is not like that the way that Dapol have connected it, it is only on with the headlights.
  14. On the real thing the top marker comes on with the halos not with the headlights.
  15. You need to set CV124 bit 7 to change change from SUSI outputs to function outputs. If you have not changed any of the other settings for CV124 write 131 to CV124.
  16. That shows that it is a MTC 21 plug but it does not comply with the full NMRA MTC spec.If you look at the ZIMO website the the 'D' versions are shown as MTC 21 pin plug, and the 'C' versions are shown as MTC 21 pin Interface, with FA3 and FA4 as logic level outputs. So the 'C' version is to the NMRA spec and is what you need as the halo lights are wired for a logic level output with a negative common. The DCC guide sheet Dapol include with the model also says mx644D, but that doesn't make it correct.
  17. The 'D' versions of Zimo decoders are not MTC compliant so won't work correctly with the Dapol 68, you need to use the 'C' versions. But you are in luck as it is a 634D, as you can convert it to a 634C by writing a 3 to CV 8.
  18. The cravens unit in J626 is one of the Rolls Royce engined mechanical transmission 112's not a 105.
  19. Yes the design started out as a replacement for Heljan PCBs so was designed for multiple classes
  20. The BR version seems to have the wheelbase printed as wb 10 instead of wb 10'6", are they all like this or is it a problem with this individual model
  21. There is another photo of one on the same sitehttp://www.eastbank.org.uk/images/Glasgow/UK0344.jpg They are Tunnel Glucose Refineries tanks http://www.na3t.org/road/photo/VS02368
