  1. My layout might be described as having "triple standards" My sidings can contain 4mm scale British trains on 16.5mm track (instead of 18.83mm). There are also 4mm scale Irish trains also at 16.5mm (instead of 21mm) and also some HO German and Chinese trains which in their case are ok on 16.5mm track.
  2. Arrangement at Limerick Junction. Both Up and Down trains use the same long platform. http://catalogue.nli.ie/cgi-bin/iipsrv.fcgi?FIF=000310000/000305785/vtls000305785_001.jp2&CNT=1&SDS=0,90&JTL=0,0
  3. The problem affects me with both IE and Firefox but I have found that if I log in to my Hattons account before shopping then things do get added to the basket properly. I should be able to put things in the basket before logging on but it does not work.
  4. I would have thought that they only need to take £1.00 to validate a card.
  5. That sounds like someone using Health and Safety as an excuse. If there was some sort of risk with the moulds, then the risk could have been evaluated and suitable precautions identified.
  6. There is a hiccup. Some Smartswitches have been recalled due to a fault/safety issue. Details here http://www.peco-uk.com/page.asp?id=recall
  7. Nice find. An HST loco with Mk1 brake. A difficult one to beat. Nice find. An HST loco with Mk1 brake. A difficult one to beat.
  8. Candidate for job as a fitter at Harland & Wolf shipyard, Belfast: "I am very skilled and can worked to within one thousandth of an inch" Foreman: "That's no good. For this job you have to be dead on".
  9. Smoke units that replicated that would have your layout room at fatal pollution levels in a few minutes. Glad you took the loco out of the shed first though.
  10. I'm confused. If the joke contains unacceptable offensive material, what is the purpose it may serve? Genuine question.
  11. I saw this on a Facebook thread about the Iceland match and thought it was amusing: "I've never been so embarrassed to be English since.... well since last Friday "
  12. Dublo tested label http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/391479550539?_mwbanner=1
  13. Try a modern computer and not that old one in TC2
  14. Young Gordon was with his parents and they were taking refreshments in the bar at Reading station when they heard a whistle. The three of them rushed out of the bar onto the platform only to discover that they had just missed the train. 'The next train is in one hour,' intoned the stationmaster. The three went back into the bar. The parents had another drink, Gordon had a coke. Again they heard a whistle, rushed out and discovered the train pulling away. 'Next one is sixty minutes from now,' grunted the stationmaster. An hour later, Gordon, with his mum and dad, raced out onto the platform, and his parents leaped onto the train as it pulled away. The boy was left standing on the platform and began to laugh uproariously. 'Your parents just left you,' said the stationmaster. 'Why are you laughing?' Gordon smiled, 'They only came to see me off.'
  15. Yes it is too much to ask. Lots of people have died since RMweb was formed and we have never suspended the jokes thread. There is an implication in your request that continuing the jokes is somehow disrespectful to the late Jo Cox. Being in public office or being a Mum may be relevant in the context of discussing her murder, but there is a separate thread for that. No disrespect to Jo but as far as I am concerned, as the OP of this thread, and as a rank and file RMwebber, the jokes can go on.
  16. RIP Jo Cox. A terrible thing to happen. I don't know the views of other members but we don't usually suspend RMweb when people die.
  17. We were happy for years with models produced in various liveries without the associated minor detail alterations being made to the model. I know that would be inaccurate but why not. I believe they would still sell.
