  2. Compatibility - EM2 Speaker With an impedance of 4 Ohms, these speakers can be used directly with all Loksound 4 and 5 decoders and some Zimo decoders (please check Zimo’s manuals and website for compatibility). If you wish to use them with other decoder types (incl. Hornby TTS decoders), you must wire another 4 Ohm speaker in series (bringing the total impedance up to 8 Ohms), otherwise you risk damaging or destroying the amplifier on the chip. These speakers are not compatible with LokSound 3.5 or earlier decoders. There are of course other suppliers - but this might be helpful? https://www.strathpefferjunction.com/product/earth-mover-em2-speaker-for-dcc-sound-4-ohm-1w-rms-ideal-for-loksound-4-5-some-zimo-decoders/
  3. I had a similar message about a "failed payment" - it has been happening to me for a couple of years - however I posted something regarding this on the Hornby Forum, and to my surprise received an email from Customer Services explaining the problems they are having - something to do with security checks. I did ask if I could post her reply on the forum, but she said "no need" as a "manager" would be putting an explanation to this continuing problem on the forum - it has yet to appear!
  4. A quick picture and now back in its box and in the cupboard - probably never to be seen again! IMG_0699 by Barry Clayton, on Flickr
  5. These were made for me by RML Electronics (Robert Denton) in 2018 - they were in fact my second order. They were built to order - RML ceased trading (Robert retired) as a shop a few years ago, but Robert was accepting private commissions. Not cheap, but superbly made. 6. Don't forget Bruce McLaren.
  7. Base Toys have a good range of Bristol Lodekka's in a variety of liveries, and look to have a little more detail than the one on offer from Hornby. Hatton's price from £13.00
  8. Clan Line 35028 ran with a 6000-gallon tender (lwb) November 59 - March 65 and then a 5100-gallon from March 65 to October 65. The current tender is the one that came with the loco when it was bought by the MNLPS from BR. There is a lot of information about M/N tenders - so I stand to be corrected
  9. In the 90's if a launch was aborted it was usually for days - even weeks. As were "doing Disney", we were probably home before it launched. I have not seen a launch from close quarters, but during the same decade (we holidayed in Orlando from 92-98), I did watch a live launch on tv and then went onto the balcony to see a "vertical" vapour trail. I should have been there now - in fact coming home today. Have stayed on the Gulf Coast for the last twelve years - for the whole of May - it was obviously cancelled this year.
  10. Back in the 90's I was on the pier at Cocoa Beach, Florida, to watch a launch, and they aborted at two seconds on the final countdown. It's not an unusual situation.
  11. With an hour to go (actually 55mins) - it's all systems "GO" - .
  12. Martin Brundle thinks he will "retire" at the end of the season?
  13. I "spotted" BEA Vanguard G-APEH and also G-APEI while sitting atop of the Queens Building on Saturday 5th August 1961. Nothing particularly spectacular on that Saturday, except perhaps for two Air France Super Constellations (F-BHBD and F-BHMJ) and a Seaboard & Western Super Constellation (N1007C) - those were the days.
  14. I spent many a Saturday on top of the Queens Building back in 1961 - it used to take sometime to get there from North London with a Red Rover bus ticket.
  15. I think Welsh garden centres are open from tomorrow - well some.
  16. I'm expecting the "silent" version to be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully it will be in one piece?
  17. There has been mention of buying numerous models for profit? When I ordered mine a few days ago, a window popped up saying "Limited to two models per customer" - I'm not sure what would have happened if you had tried to order, say five. I only wanted one.
  18. I think the Hornby site is down again at the moment. I ordered the Class 66 this morning - they are actually limited to two per customer - I only wanted one, but a message flashed up as I ordered. Tremendous donation by Hornby.
  19. British GP may happen in July "behind closed doors" - Are you a ticket holder and have you received the email?
  20. Although we've heard it before, but the actual cost of fuel at the pumps is about 12.5p - the rest is tax. Unleaded currently £1.08 at the Shell station down the road. The cost announcement was on BBC - believe it if you want!
  21. Belgian GP (Sept 1st) now looking doubtful. I expect some will disagree, but is it really worth starting this season?
  22. Captain Tom Moore hits £5m this morning - what can you say!
