  1. Black Magic Woman - Fleetwood Mac
  2. La vie en rose - Grace Jones, Edith Piaf, etc.
  3. Hi again, 'Locomotive' - use of the word was my error, as I was trying to recall what was said to me by the plate's current owner. Provenance - only the story from the current owner. I imagine any formal paper trail is unlikely .... If it proves impossible to identify the vehicle this belonged to, locomotive or otherwise, that does not truly matter. Regards, Alex.
  4. Practical Amanda - Ben Folds
  5. Hi everyone, Sorry if this has already been checked (and I've not noticed) but is the wobble when it's running on track or a rolling road of some description? I have found in the past that some Bachmann 57xx lurch about like a ship in a storm on a rolling road but are fine when on track. Regards, Alex.
  6. Hi everyone, It seems reasonable to assume that IS drivers were passed on class 27, but I understood that their main use was on the line to/from Aberdeen. Interesting to see photos of the 27s north of Inverness; they're new to me too. Regards, Alex.
  7. Does your mother know? - ABBA
  8. Post deleted - noticed someone had beaten me to my link ….
  9. Harvest for the world - Isley Brothers, The Christians, Jewell, et. al.
  10. Hi again, Here's the image of the plate: I have no knowledge of the different styles that relate to different manufacturers and operators so I am hoping that someone here will be able to assist. Again, many thanks for any help offered. Regards, Alex.
  11. Better the devil you know - Kylie Minogue
  12. Hi Arran, Is that a complete/final list of traders & exhibitors for this year's show? Thanks. Regards, Alex.
  13. Nobody does it better - Carly Simon
  14. Don't stop - Fleetwood Mac, et. al.
  15. She blinded me with science - Thomas Dolby
  16. Hi again, I've now had the chance to travel in a few more of these units. There's a marked difference in ride quality depending on where you sit; the first class sections (very front and rear) seem to be above a bogie, and have a much rougher quality whereas the middle of the coach seems to be fairly smooth. The latter seems to be the case even when at high speed. If all goes to plan they will disappear soon enough as the 385s are due to come on stream from Tuesday. Thanks for reading. Alex.
  17. Something in the Way She Moves - James Taylor
  18. Is it just me or does that van look as if it's straight out of the box, rather than weathered like the other wagons?
  19. The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - Simon & Garfunkel
  20. Hi again, Thanks for the suggestion Mike. As said earler, I have the 1914 book; the problem with it is that it always answers one question by adding a handful more! My wife has even had a look at it to see what the railways were like where she grew up. I wonder if anyone has ever considered compiling a railway atlas of lines that were considered as well as those built? It could be a rather large, and possibly complex, volume. Again, thanks for the input. Regards, Alex.
  21. Hi again, Thanks for that information gentlemen. I'll pass it on. I've been told that a photo will be emailed to me, so hopefully that'll help narrow it down. Regards, Alex.
  22. Hi again, Thanks for the response (and the joke); the information has now been passed on. Regards, Alex.
