No. The Red Panda Chassis is only suitable for lot number 2998 of BR Diagram 1/002 - the eight panel steel body style - as per the Red Panda kit. The first lot of Dia. 1/002 (2194) with the five panel body had LNER clasp brake underframes - this was the largest single lot with 1,000 vehices. The next three lots (2340, 2420, 2461) have five panel bodies and Morton vac underframes. The next two lots (2467, 2729) had eight panel bodies and Morton vac underframes. Instructions (attached) are provided on how to convert the body to the earlier five panel style - conversions will of course require different underframes, as noted above. The first BR Lowfit (BR Diagram 1/001 - lot number 2107) was the LNER wooden dropside body married to an LMS clasp brake underframe. Mark McKendrick Red Panda Railway Models

Hiya Paul, The Red Panda Shocvan body is a nominal scale 16' 5" inside the corrugations. Although I haven't come across one (not that I've checked many in the calipers) I am aware of some reports that have noted (some) moldings to be a little longer. Mark McKendrick. Red Panda Railway Models.

One would need to remove the diagonal wrap-around detail at each end of the side component and replace it with vertical narrow uprights.

No Shocvan has a 17' 6" body and our kit certainly doesn't! Shocvan bodies are 16' 4.25" inside and a nominal 16' 6" over the body length - not including the extra few inches created by the corregations.

Gentlemen... Harry *should* have the Red Panda BR 10' wb 8 shoe clasp brake underframe by 3rd October. I realise it was damned inconvenient of me to become seriously ill recently resulting in a number of successive hospital admissions. This prevented me from doing any packing of kits following a period of low component stock and recent re-supply of same.
