You might be lucky and they might do all the buildings you need - lol. That certainly helps.

Horsetan's stupid, juvenile and sexist comment has been removed (and therefore references to it). An apology will be requested from me.

When reading these types of book I wish I was part of the scene. They can certainly evoke very powerful and fond memories of the times I wish to incorporate into my models!

  10. Had wisdom teeth removed last week! Not a wise move! :P

Will there be expansion problems when things warm up?

  12. Well Jaymes, I am hoping to finish 'that' wagon and get its first coat of engineers yellow on. What is that diarama you're working on?
  13. Yeah, I think it would be good to do a smaller project along side... then at least I won't feel the slow progress with Burton :s
  14. So last night was spent in the cellar, tidying my workbench ready for a whole day of weathering on Monday. It's always good to have a tidy occasionally, but I'll be the first to admit, I don't do it often enough. It's amazing what you find! I found I have five different airbrushes and several hand build 4mm points. I'm tempted to use the points for a small depot layout as I also have some baseboards (10ft x 1ft) that have never been used for the intended project. I may set myself a challenge to build it in two months? So Monday, I have a respray to start for a friend, a Hornby Class 31 into EWS (31466) and weathering of my own Dutch Class 37 in N Gauge.
  15. I have a tonne of photos of wolvo steel terminal from 2000. If you need any I can scan & email to you. Lucy.
  16. This Monday I'll have a whole day to myself for some OMWB projects :)

Look forward to see a blog update from the results!

  17. We've fitted a fair few for customers and found the Lenz chips work well. Sadly, it's basically a Scalextic motor so requires a better decoder.
  18. The buildings look fine, and once painted they'll be great. The cargo wagon has inspired me, very nice!
  19. Would these have been Regi Rail Mk1's? I'm not currently a member, but have been in the past. They put on a great show at Burton On Trent!
  20. Yes Pete, this is probably the way I will go. Also, I'm waiting to see how Wayne Kinney's fiNeTrax turns out before I commit as this is similar to EasyTrack but to N Standards too. Thanks for the link, I'll take a peek later
  21. That sounds like an interesting read on bogie mods. I also use the scratching technique to remove the numbers but use a very small jewellers flat screwdriver to remove the most part. Followed by thinners and a cotton bud to clean and remove the last bits. I personally have never got on with dry brushing on locos, I always seem to over do it, but on buildings it works very well for me.
  22. Thanks for the comment Philip, glad you like it. My next blog entry will be about removing the factory applied loco numbers, using waterslide transfers to renumber, before the weathering of 37092 can commence.
  23. I've started a seperate blog to document things on my workbench that are not to do with The Building of Burton Wetmore (my layout project), which can be found here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1182-building-burton-wetmore/ So here's the first entry, 37035 a Cardiff based machine in the early 90's suitably airbrush weathered. A 'fresh out the box' version sits along side for comparison, which will later be renumbered as 37092, another Cardiff Tractor.
  24. Thanks for this info. As far as I'm aware, the depot was used for wagon repair during the 90's, so lines of scraped wagons would fit in with the info I have. Most of those sidings have now been ripped up and/or are very overgrown. Photos of the depot in the early 90's are extremely scarce on the internet, so the Burton Railway Clubs would be a good idea I'm not that local to Burton On Trent these days but grew up in Lichfield, but still only an hours drive away. Thanks for the info!
