Charlie - I have one of these on pre-order. Will you be offering DCC / DCC Sound fitting options direct from yourself for those of us with pre-existing orders? I can’t recall if there was an option available for this when I placed the order. Thank you.

I was half expecting the cancelled 2023 Avanti version to appear in the new announcements but sadly not. I think I read in the announcements thread that Hornby had acknowledged the issue with the TPE colours and were awaiting revised samples.

Bachmann DCC Sound on DC Problems
TangerineWizards replied to TangerineWizards's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Thanks very much for everyone’s comments and assistance with this. I understand DCC much better just from these tips. I’ve tried the model on a loop of track this morning and it never got above a crawl. Assuming the CV needs changing, would I be able to do this on an entry level DCC controller such as the new Bachmann EZ DCC Plus, released this week? Or would I need something more specialised. That is assuming that an entry level DCC controller wouldn’t resolve the speed issue regardless of the CV setting being high? I should point out this was bought second hand on eBay so I imagine the previous owner had changed it from factory settings. -
Bachmann DCC Sound on DC Problems
TangerineWizards replied to TangerineWizards's topic in DCC Help & Questions
You could have potentially solved it as I’ve only been running in a small space. The APA box is gone but only replaced with a scale scene baseboard. I’ll set up a circle of track over the weekend and see if the speed increases over a longer distance. It is the Hornby train set controller I am using. I’ve been modelling for 20 years and only ever upgraded to newer versions of the basic Hornby controller. Thanks very much for your helpful reply. -
I am a complete novice when it comes to DCC and even more so when it comes to DCC Sound, but I thought I’d move with the times and invest in a cut price Bachmann Class 150 sound fitted model to try on my DC layout, having read that they work on DC but without the operators choice of sound. Now the model has arrived, I’ve tested it and found my Hornby DC controller has to be on full power to make it move at just a snails pace, although the sound is good. My question is - is this likely because the Hornby controller can’t supply enough power? I have one that says it supplies 16v to the track and another that says it supplies 19v. The 19v makes it move slightly but the 16v only initiates the sound. Or is this likely a problem with the model, as my DC locos move as expected fast and slow on command? I am very tempted to invest in a DCC controller but this is a mystery I’d like to solve initially. Any help for a DCC newbie would be appreciated. Thank you!

Any news on when these will be out to retailers? I’ve got a pre-order with Rainbow Railways.

RevolutioN announce OO Gauge IPA Wagons
TangerineWizards replied to sc2016's topic in Revolution Trains
Hattons have now cancelled my pre-order saying due to a ‘miscommunication’ they can’t fulfil it. Luckily I had some ordered direct from Revolution! -
RevolutioN announce OO Gauge IPA Wagons
TangerineWizards replied to sc2016's topic in Revolution Trains
Hello - Is there a timescale for these arriving at retailers? I have a pre-order with Hattons. -
I’m on the hunt for some Electra Northern Class 155 vinyls released a few years ago. I’ve contacted Electra but they aren’t currently available from them. If anyone has a set lying around unused, I’ll happily make you an offer!

Was this an easy match to the old Class 20 chassis or does it require some butchering to make it work?
-
I’d happily buy a few if you did. It’s quite an interesting train with the mix of boxes and tanks. Thanks for replying!

Is there any chance of some ACL containers, as seen on the Seaforth-Scotland intermodal trains?

Proposed new Welsh stations
TangerineWizards replied to Northmoor's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
The Wrexham-Bidston Rail User Group have been pushing the case for Deeside Parkway for some time now, with reasoned arguments and a solid case for funding. It's great to see their hard work starting to pay off. With this and the D-Train coming soon, its exciting to see the potential for Wrexham-Bidston and hopefully on to Liverpool. -
I'm trying to find out what (if any) modern day trains run with supplies for the Navy or RAF. I know GBRf currently have the MOD contract and seem to move a lot of vehicles for the army but its harder to identify if any of the workings serve Naval or RAF locations. I've found records of DM Glen Douglas (along with a modern and quite small model suitable exchange siding) still receiving trains that appear to serve the naval pontoon in Loch Long. I think DRS take the KXA nuclear flasks to Plymouth for the subs along with previous trips to Rosyth. Anywhere else? Any pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks very much for finding out for me. Its remarkably simple to get such a god result.

Out of interest, who makes the corrugated sheets you used for the warehouse back scene? That is a really impressive building.

Accurascale announces at KUA in OO gauge
TangerineWizards replied to adb968008's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I see RevolutioN have a factory sample of the N gauge version over on their thread. Any sign of your samples yet? I'm eager to see these!
