  1. I see you are in Leek - Google Maps tells me that is only 30 miles from The Roundhouse and so you can come and visit the Gladiator stand at the Derby Show 7th & 8th May. .
  2. Very pleased to say that David and Trisha will be supporting their local Derby Exhibition at The Roundhouse on 7th and 8th May. This is your opportunity to buy all those kits you have been dreaming of and it also gives you an opportunity to tell David what's on your wish list - as he has said above, there are many in the pipeline but what should come next ? Visit our show and tell him !! .
  3. Gordon Many thanks for the explanation - I understand now . . . . . . . . .
  4. How does that work then ? If there are 10 digits to select without duplication then don't you have 10 choices for the first number, then 9 for the second etc 10 x 9 x 8 x 7 = 5040 combinations . . . . . or am I missing something - perhaps it's too early in the morning to think straight ! .
  5. Don't forget that Bachmann USA won't want to anything that might upset the owners of the 'Thomas Brand' otherwise they could loose all the work they have put into the American HO and G Scale range They must sell a heck of a lot more Thomas stuff in the States compared to what they might sell to OO9 modellers and won't want to risk that business relationship. .
  6. . . . . and me - based on the fact that I don't even own a soldering iron, solder or flux, you can probably guess that it's a long term project ! .
  7. As seen from over the fence at the Derby show last year - the sound of 4 20s going past the Roundhouse had some enthusiasts rushing out of the building ! .

No reason not to - it's been mentioned in various places that they all come from the same factory - as will the new Class 15 from Little Loco Co. .
  9. Many thanks for all the 'Like' ratings following the happy event Saturday - for those who need to know the important details (as I will have to tell everyone at work) - baby was 6lb 3oz and has no name yet - whilst he was a bump he was called 'Bruce'. In a few years I may have to take out Family Membership again at the Club - all my three boys went but were never really interested much and although the youngest is still modelling, it's 'Games Workshop' fantasy stuff. Mike
  10. Pleased to report the safe delivery of first Grandson at the Royal Derby Hospital yesterday afternoon. Picture below taken this afternoon when the little man was a day old . . . . . . and for a better picture without me . . . . . . . . . . .
  11. Have a look at Finney7.com . . . . . . . . . . . .
  12. We spend all our time trying to get out of the place . . . . . . . . ! ! .
  13. How odd is that - I have just used 4 different ratings Thanks for the update Like for the donation and the new bigger loco by the end of the year Friendly/Supportive as you don't have any time and of course Funny for your response to Kenton . . . . . . . Mike .
  14. Isn't that the standard answer to (almost) everything . . . . . What about the foxes - a couple of years ago we stayed at the Abbey Wood Caravan Club site and were disturbed by a noise in the night - looked out of the window to find that a fox had got into the awning. Chased it away but discovered later that he/she had chewed the straps off a couple of the wife's sandals (left and right from two different pairs) plus another was missing and was presumably taken away so that was 3 pairs ruined. Luckily she had trainers in the van otherwise it would have been slippers for our trip to the big city. Later we saw some drawings that children had pinned up in the office which read 'beware of foxes they eat our shoes' .
  15. So that explains why I didn't see you trying to escape from The Royal - you were in the posh hospital in the 'other Over' (for anyone reading this who's not from Derby, the Royal is in Mickleover, the Nuffield is in Littleover) I'll get the wife to wave when she goes to Littleover School later . . . . Sorry to hear that the staff last night were not at their best - hopefully things will improve (or get back to normal) today. Mike .
  16. Whenever we are anywhere near Windermere we always have to go here - I don't mind too much as long as I get to sample the cakes she makes . . .! http://www.lakeland.co.uk/ .
  17. As always, Family comes first - hope she's recovered enough to enable you to get to Derby in May but if not then please don't worry . . . . . . Mike .
  18. Good to hear from you Andy and pleased all went well. I assume you are in the Royal Derby - I thought about you as I drove past about 6.00pm on my way home to Mickleover and wondered if I might see you trying to escape . . ! Mike .
  19. Sorry guys - partly my fault. I saw 'MGR' had posted a new topic with a link to information on the Hornby Magazine site and so I posted a link to this topic where Steve had already posted the full information and CAD files. I then reported the duplication to the Admin and Mods team so that all the information was in one place which has been common practice over the last 10 years (goodness have I been here that long!) Steve - perhaps if you start a new topic with your full announcement and make clear that it is only for discussing the new loco and all the wish lists and general chat can continue on this page. I guess what you wanted from Andy was a separate 'sub-forum' similar to Chris with Ixion and Minerva. Mike EDIT to add link to the other topic http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/109138-little-loco-announces-class-15-in-o-gauge/ .
  20. Good to meet you too - and to find out that you thought I was someone else . . . . . . ! Mike .
  21. Had the pleasure of meeting Jamie at Nottingham this afternoon - and spent some time admiring the layout we have all seen and heard so much about - a lot of work done and a lot more to do ! Mike .
  22. Jock - I did see that post for a very short while earlier today and tried to click 'like' but then it disappeared again - wasn't your father described in the newspaper article as a 'Royal' train driver? Hope you have better luck with a fresh start tomorrow . . . . . . . G'night Mike .
  23. Well I never actually said what it was but you did give the game away 6 months ago on the Guild Forum . . . . . . Always good to welcome a new manufacturer and I hope this venture is a great success - and you are to be commended for your commitment to support the Preservation Society. Mike .

As far as I know there was nothing to show - unless anyone is aware of the loco being hidden away under the Lionheart stand ?
  25. I have never attempted anything like that - however instead of talking about the chassis, I just wanted to comment on the YouTube film you posted - I was surprised how clear and sharp the video was - so many links go to poor quality out of focus videos that it makes you wonder why some people bother but that was perfect. May I ask what camera you used ? .
