  1. Send it back. Regardless of cost, that it not fit for purpose.
  2. Just the 4 locos, a coach, and quite a bit of scenic stuff.....quite restrained really....
  3. A good day, though initially wet. Good to meet Simon. All the locos looked splendid. Only 3hrs 50mins back to Cardiff, even with the usual nonsense of the M20 and M25. https://www.facebook.com/tim.hall.146/media_set?set=a.1646186135485628&type=3
  4. Should be there as soon as the gate opens, hoping to ride behind as many locos as possible
  5. Easy enough to get crew in, and yes, they do hide the firebox flicker. Sorry about poor phone snap.
  6. They've just emailed and put on FB that new batches available Q1 2019.....small discounts for previous purchasers.... http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/c/1102/Diesel-Locomotives/2
  7. Which is mildly annoying, as I bought a 2nd hand set elsewhere last week, as I wanted the loco is that livery, and am planning to sell my original coaches online v soon, probably now for slightly less than I'd hoped Apologies for offthreadedness….
  8. I had 40150 on A/C Mk2s from Preston to Blackpool N on 19/8/84, a very warm day. Passengers were wedging the sliding doors to the vestibules open with luggage, to get air flow from the droplights, and the guard was trying to shut them, moaning that the A/C wouldn't work with them open. He was roundly derided by the large number of "bashers" onboard.
  9. Should be there for my first visit. RHDR on the Sat, you on the Sunday, staying in cheapish B and B in Tunbridge Wells.
  10. Thanks, just bought it and had a look through your impressive thread. Mine won't be as detailed as yours, but hopefully will look something like it should
  11. Bought that Brown Boveri, arrived today. Looking forward to making a start.
  12. I regularly used to call in C and G in Darlington after a few, on my way back to the station, and surprised myself several times with my purchases.
  13. Lendons is only really much use if you can tell them exactly what you want, often by pointing at it or quoting a serial number! I drive past there most days, but rarely call in, as you can't browse in there.
  14. Looks rather good after some tinkering with the discs and addition of a driver.
  15. It moves! https://www.facebook.com/tim.hall.146/videos/1604534562984119/?t=5
  16. I've specified a (younger) railway friend of mine to sell my collection in my will. He'll get 7.5% for his trouble and the balance will go to my daughter. He'll sell for a decent price (knows enough about the stock to do that).
  17. Yes, it was a highlight for me in the mid-late 80s, when I was a spotter and a bit of a basher. Weren't there yellow pages with wacky loco workings and reallocations?
  18. Safely arrived from Coleford today, seen with another new arrival. It's time to get selling on ebay ASAP!
  19. Railway Reflections started very well, but tailed off and only lasted about 30 issues. Think I still have the complete set.
