  1. Indeed, still very odd though.
  2. The car is regularly seen at various of the Great Little Trains of Wales as its owner, Julian Birtley, is involved with Bala Lake Railway, and recently restored Quarry Hunslet "Winifred". It was at Aberystywth a fortnight ago during the VOR Gala. Plenty of pics in sunshine online...
  3. Oh, lordy! Thought my eyes were going at first: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-Royal-Scot-Train-Set-/181891961902?hash=item2a599b142e
  4. Astonished! Ordered a Bachmann 47 at 0720am Sunday, and it arrived before 11.00am today (Monday) here in Cardiff via Yodel.
  5. Indeed. I noticed them and came over all dizzy. Again, nothing I was after though
  6. I've just done the same, but full yellow ends on my 128....two vehicles I cannot possibly justify......but the Bo-Bo's are stunning
  7. And I was on the cover of their magazine in July 2015, driving a 15 inch gauge Lister
  8. If it was "Sherlock Holmes" so treated. would that make it a lemon entry, rather than elementary?
  9. Long way from Bishop though.....used to play cricket round there when I lived in Redcar (and frequented C and G in Darlo.....)
  10. Ran mine over some of my less used track, including a couple of Peco code 100 diamonds and plenty of insulfrog points reasonably slowly with no hesitation.
  11. My Crosti seems happy enough on 2ft 6 inch radius, which is the tightest I use. When were the BR Standard Class 2s (84xxx and 78xxx) withdrawn? Can't quite remember. Think they went reasonably early as largely displaced by DMUs, closures etc
  12. Indeed, the bag of goodies is just vac pipes and a NEM coupling for the front. Video of mine on Facebook here, no idea who will be able to see it though! https://www.facebook.com/groups/148688735244151/
  13. Lord and Butler have had them today, off to buy one very soon
  14. They have Crosti's! Just posted thus on Facebook. Wallet hiding in the corner, off there very soon!
  15. Kernow have pictures with the comment to the effect that these are pre production models, with livery inaccuracies.
  16. Lord and Butler were saying next week when I was in there yesterday am, of course that may have changed by now......
  17. Oh, never thought of that as a smoke deflector, but I see what you mean.
  18. Don't think any Crostis had smoke deflectors fitted, cos the smoke mainly came out of the side..........
  19. I've posted this clip on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tim.hall.146/videos/o.148688735244151/698450766925841/?type=2&theatre And these snaps: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=698443820259869&set=pcb.759765000803185&type=1&theater
  20. There is a round device looking like a speaker in the cab floor. Don't know how to access it, and have stuck a man on it, as mine will remain mute.
  21. Bought one from Lord and Butler this AM (first sold in a shop in Wales, I was told...hmm). Stunning runner. Almost silent going forwards on 7 Mk1s at all sensible speeds from crawl upwards. Slight growl in reverse at present. Copes with insulfrog points and diamonds fine. Cab levers off very easily for fitment of electrical gubbins, or in my case 3 crew figures. Speaker is in cab floor if you like that sort of thing. Well impressed.
  22. Lendons is the nearest model shop to me (about 3 miles), but I usually travel across town to Lord and Butler, as Lendons shop is very old fashioned with most stuff behind the L shaped counter, stacked high up and not easily visible. The staff mostly have no idea if an item is in stock, or where it might be. Even a serial number often confuses. Oddly, their website requires knowledge of an items serial number to find it quickly, however. Can't knock them too much, though, they've survived for years so far, but not the most user friendly shop I've visited. They did have the J15 in stock before L and B or a well known Liverpool box shifter, and at a fair price.
  23. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDhrUL9YBTY something a bit like this for a gala? Go to about 15min30
