  1. Either would be pop-ular (well you started it!)
  2. An honest description, but how did it get like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-K3-2-6-0-LOCO-61823-IN-BR-LINED-BLACK-FOR-SPARES-/401062700238?hash=item5d613324ce:g:pzQAAOSwL7VWql5q
  3. Just noticed 37706 "Conidae" RF Petroleum livery now in stock at a hub near Widnes (not Liverpool!), duly ordered.....also 796 coal sector, sound fitted, for those that do that sort of thing.
  4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-Bachmann-OO-400190-4-6-0-FLYING-SCOT-4-COACHES-IN-ORANGE-RED-BOXED/181995718960?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3Dafe5bc95347b44aa879580b73328c557%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D131702753188 That's quite unpleasant....
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-DUBLO-3-RAIL-CONVERSION-LOCO-BR-Britannia-or-Class7-4-6-2-Locomotive-/281911929915?hash=item41a342ac3b:g:uYEAAOSwX~dWm8Yg Surely that's over HDing it a bit?
  6. These really are excellent runners (DC). Just had mine on 52 4 wheeled Hornby/ Bachmann wagons/ brake vans, with only a hint of slipping. A friend who was "driving" it couldn't get it to stall on insulfrog points, even dead slow and without cleaning anything. Very impressed.
  7. In preservation, "The Royal Alex" plates on 101 were black on Dean Forest Railway in July 06
  8. I reckon that if any of us could be bothered, we could source all 4 of these mentioned for about £20 in total. I certainly bought the pseudo catering vehicle off ebay for £6.50 recently.
  9. Argh! Must resist, well for a week or two at least. Four new car tyres last week, and accountants paid today
  10. Lord and Butler were also selling BGs for a while. Don't know if they sold them all or stopped for any other reason though.
  11. Have managed to acquire decent kit built versions of both classes recently for less than £169.95 in total
  12. Well I've now seen some in "the flesh" and have to say the executive liveried one looks awful. Far too black and white. The large logo one was in a cabinet close to a blue Dapol 22 and a Heljan 27. What a selection of shades! The blue on the large logo one does look purple and dark, the Heljan 27 ok, and the 22 a faded, less intense blue (which looks ok to me for a worn loco). E6003 looks v good, but not 3x better than my Hornby one (bought for £40), and which I've recently fitted with oval buffers.
  13. Loco footplates could get very dirty with coal dust blowing around, so a pipe to wash down with was a common feature. Not often seen from outside though.
  14. Well, the main downside to having one of these is that it would make a lot of my other models (especially coaches or wagons for it to pull) look somewhat basic.....might stick out a bit too much on shed as well.
  15. Because decent etched plates, fitted neatly, really lift a model (as do the various bufferbeam details, headcode discs etc supplied with this one).
  16. Here's mine: https://www.facebook.com/groups/148688735244151/ https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=759559574148293&set=pcb.815869331859418&type=3&theater
  17. Not madness, just odd (unless picture gets changed soon): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-THE-NIGHT-MAIL-TRAIN-SET-00-GAUGE-/291621610639?hash=item43e600a48f:g:sL8AAOSw7FRWUHe2
  18. It'll be alright when Beatlemania reaches there.
  19. Postie has been Very pleased. Not sure if these links will work. https://www.facebook.com/groups/148688735244151/ https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=757568317680752&set=pcb.813624745417210&type=3&theater
  20. Received an email this am to say that my Calbourne (ordered 8/9/10) is in the post Almost physically excited
  21. 31406 worked a Friday afternoon service from Lime St in late 82/early 83 when I was a student in Liverpool. I took it as far as Man Vic. It was the only one I saw on such a working in my time in Liverpool (82-85) or visiting Darlington regularly whilst living on Teesside from Easter 85 onwards.
  22. Model Rail have just posted this on Facebook: "Chris has discovered that out-of-gauge driving wheelsets were responsible for the poor performance of our O2. Happily, with a super-quick adjustment, the DJM/Kernow locomotive is now running beautifully - the results of which we’ve posted on YouTube. Chris is, in fact, so chuffed with the performance; he’s ordered one for himself! "
  23. Should have realised that :scratchhead:thanks
  24. Dan, how much will you be selling them for? On the off chance I get to Perrygrove in the next couple of weeks, even though I asked not to be rostered this week.
