  1. Was "Bottom of the Barrel" layout present. I didn't see it on the videos. David
  2. Hi Ray, if you were closer to me (Nottingham) I would snap your layout up in an instant. David
  3. Great work Adam. Do you intend to exhibit it in the future? i would to see it in the flesh as it were. David
  4. A question about your double slip Adam. It looks like a insulfrog point and I wondered how your short wheel base locos behave on it. Have you modified the point at all? David
  5. Nice layout Adam, I particularly like the water effects. I'll follow with interest. David
  6. Could I ask what size are the scenic sections on these layouts please?
  7. Really nice layouts Paul. I noticed on some of your layouts you have used small radius Y turnouts and was wondering if you had to modify them at all? David
  8. I sent them an email on the 30/11/20, never received a reply.
  9. Sorry to hear Kenwards Colliery is no more, but good luck with your current layout. David
  10. I was looking to convert it to a C&HPR loco given that it had narrow cab widows and the extra pair of steps, but given the price of the model there is no way I'm going to cut the extended bunker off. Thanks for your comments. David
  11. Can anyone tell me if E85001 No.68075 extended coal bunker is detachable, or would it require surgery?
  12. Thanks for that. The reason I asked was I wondered whether there was some control mechanism for the amount of coal dropping into the wagon. I would imagine it would be easier to have pre measured amounts to drop into the chute. David
  13. Really nice little layout. Any chance of a photo of the chute arrangement to the loader please? David
  14. "I've also booked the venue for the 2022 show......" Are you not bothering with next year 2021 Les? David
  15. Nick the first photograph looks like your layout Ashbourne Midland. Will it be appearing as I don't see it on the list? David
  16. Very nice layout. I notice you use tension lock couplings, do you uncouple by hand? David
  17. Really enjoyed the videos. I see your stock all use tension lock couplers, do you uncouple them by hand, or am I missing something?
  18. Nice layout Gerry. Out of interest which number Kadeee coupling do you use? David
  19. I hear what you're saying Ian, and I like static grass as well. But I'm modelling Belgrave and Birstall station on the GC which is in a shallow cutting and has 16 ft long embankments either side on the station, and I think static grass sticking out at an angle wouldn't look very realistic in this sort of quantity.
  20. Thanks Ian, I'd better stick with the more conventional methods.
  21. What happens when static grass is applied to embankments please? Does the grass stand vertically as in real life, or does it stand at 90 degrees to the slope?
  22. After attempting a couple of large layouts in the attic, and the "discouragement factor" kicking in, I had virtually given up the idea of getting a layout anywhere near completion. This was until I saw Clive's layout Pig Lane in Model Rail and decided to build something more manageable myself. I've now almost completed a diesel depot set in the 60's and in the midland region. I can still only aspire to Clive's modelling skills, but it gave me the impetus to get something done. Thanks very much Clive. Regards, David
