  1. Im going there myself and haven't been since 2019. Just had a look at floor plan. It looks like part of hall 7 has been given over to a Lego section rather than traders. Not seen Lego at Intermodelbau before. I’m still confident I’ll be able to spend my duty free allowance!
  2. Afternoon all, Taken mil out to the greasy spoon cafe in Fox Valley for the first time in weeks. Decided Id stay with swbo at mils to give her some morale support. They’re doing a jigsaw while I'm sat in a rocking chair wrapped up in a dingle blanket. FFS I’m not even sixty yet.
  3. Cant agree more. Badgers, hedgehogs and pheasants here. Really sad especially if they’ve got young at home. Cant dwell on it too much.
  4. Thought @polybear would be able to help you out on that one.
  5. About 10 years ago we were preparing for a system to detect counterfeit pharmaceuticals which was a real PIA and would addd significantly to the time it took to dispense an item. The system fell by the wayside and think Brexit had something to do with it. I did read an article somewhere that in the history of the NHS no counterfeit pharmaceuticals had entered the supply chain. On a similar note it still surprises me that according to the US tv shows/films I watch prescribed medicines are still supplied loose in tablet bottles rather than patient packs. One of the advantages of the pre pack is that a patient information leaflet is automatically supplied to the patient. I would have thought in such a litigious society patient information leaflets would be mandatory. As a country we were late to the original patent pack supply ethos but it’s been with us for probably 20years now. Anyway Goodnight (again)
  6. Evening All, Spent a good part of the weekend massaging the books, month end, year end and preparing for retirement. I did try to cut out palm oil but with other ingredients I need to avoid it is very difficult. For the same reason I’m used to odd flours, such as pea and potato flour. They certainly make your fairy buns taste a bit odd. Perhaps Jamie Oliver’s books are more ‘a taste of XXXXXX’ using quick and simple techniques and readily available/accessible ingredients. Wouldn’t know myself as I don’t need any books, I can boil an egg satisfactorily (most of the time) all on my own. Goodnight.
  7. And they’ve even recorded a song specially for @polybear https://genius.com/The-toy-dolls-spiders-in-the-dressing-room-lyrics
  8. What about the TV chefs who taste sauces straight from the pan using the stirring spoon?
  9. The trouble with ‘pick your own’ or ‘fill your own’ is the risk of contamination. I’ve looked at a few outlets that sell this way but the risk is too great for me to consider using them. A great idea to save on packaging etc. The cafe/healthy living store in Penistone that we frequent does have fill your own washing up liquid etc.
  10. Evening All, Been down to Newark today to see Mum.Nothing much else to report, probably as well as speed is glacial tonight. Goodnight.
  11. Thanks, Toy Dolls always make me smile. A couple of my favorites Yul Brynner was a Skinhead https://genius.com/The-toy-dolls-yul-brynner-was-a-skinhead-lyrics and The Kids in Tyne and Wear. ( their parody of KimWilds ‘Kids in America’) https://genius.com/The-toy-dolls-kids-in-tyne-and-wear-lyrics
  12. What time should I come round?
  13. Bit of a long story but basically I had the test for sleep apnea to allow me to have a general anaesthetic. Got all the way to the theatre before someone realised I may have an issue. We hear how much money is wasted on patients wasting clinic/clinician's time by missing appointments. How much money was wasted setting me up for theatre time and then cancelling it due to someone not checking my history until the last minute? I think that counts as a rant. ps Still at mils.
  14. When I go my friends (Nick , Neil knows him) we ‘take tea in the parlour!’
  15. Ive tried that but I toss and turn so much in bed my position is never consistent. I once had a test for sleep apnea but results were inconclusive as I’d tossed and turned so much I’d disconnected from the monitoring instrument., Can you guess from all the posts rubbish coming from me that I’m stuck at Mils?
  16. Reminds me of the episode of Black Adder where in one room he is ‘entertaining ‘ his drinking pals while simultaneously entertaining his Presbyterian extended family in another reception room.
  17. As i said not usually a problem, room usually 18C but having windows will disturb swbo and the dogs. I think the sweating would occur regardless of the ambient temp.
  18. Is that a description of ‘the holiday hovel’, your town house or CC’s Alpine redoubt?
  19. Sorry to hear your sweats but mine arn't that frequent and usually associated with periods or stress. I did used to drink far too much caffeine but now limited but none after 6ish, doc’s orders.
  20. In need of comfort food today. I have been trying to cut down on UPF, but not today.
  21. Morning All, Not a good night, kept waking up sweating and heart racing. No nightmares. Sat here with a coffee trying to make it last as I really need can’t be bothered to do anything today (or any other day really) Preparing for retirement is not going particularly well and having Syd round is more of a challenging than it used to be. Weather not particularly good and mil still a ‘wounded soldier’. Can’t but it off any longer. As @Ian Abelmay say, Onwards.
  22. Just noticed a battery in the box, I wonder if the skeleton’s eye light up. Good night.
  23. Its my sisters, found with her old medical text books. I think it was given to her by a GP friend of my dads. Must admit it was a bit of a shock when I opened up the carrier bag. I have another similar story but thats for later.
  24. Im getting old, I still think of the liveries in the German pictures as being modern!
