  1. Evening All, As youngest nephew was off school today we got lumbered so most of the day involved keeping him happy. We failed miserably. My delivery man phoned to say that th3 little rumble he heard from the bonnet was actually two noises Deltics going up in smoke! Been to MRC for an hour or so where it chucked it darn but on arriving home, nothing. Better do some watering tomorrow. Goodnight.
  2. Wishing ( I had a photograph of you) A Flock of Seagulls
  3. A horse with no name. America.
  4. Seen a couple of weeks ago in a supermarket carpark. No expert but does look from this distance to be nicely presented.
  5. Right on sister. Tom Robinson Band
  6. She does it right. Dr Feelgood.
  7. Evening All, The usual sort of Monday involving Mil, dogs and nephews. Even managed a bit of business work. Went down to sister’s yesterday as it was a niece’s 18th birthday and we had a BBQ. All very nice and sister made me a gf cake and bil got me some gf beer and of course it would have been rude to refuse their hospitality. Unfortunately bit of trouble with the alimentary canal today.Had it whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago and put it down to too much rice but not sure what’s caused it this time. SWMBO believes too much beer but the jury’s out. Did make a purchase today and hopefully it won’t cause ‘Holy War’. On that positive note I will bid you all a goodnight.
  8. I was going to buy this book at Meadowhall at the weekend but there was a large queue at the cash desk and I was running late but one on my list. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Attack-Warning-Red-Julie-McDowall/dp/1847926215/ref=asc_df_1847926215?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=535049525184&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4076643825473378873&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006610&hvtargid=pla-1488464661274&psc=1&th=1&psc=1&dplnkId=c8372c84-c5b8-4542-84be-125069469840&nodl=1
  9. Morning All, Another day and we’re here at Fox Valley. A little factoid. Fox Valley shopping centre is build on a disused part of the Samuel Fox steel works.Part of the site is still producing special steels and according to one of the signs 50% of all aircraft flying have ‘Fox’s’ steel in them. Thats not actually the factoid i intended but still interesting. The real factoid is that the cast flying fox on the side of A4 ‘Flying Fox’ was made here! thank you for your attention.
  10. I think one of the issues with DCC is the ‘black magic’ element and not wanting to let the magic smoke escape. Pre DCC ,if something went wrong it was usually obvious to see and repair and most modellers like to fix things themselves but with DCC you can’t fix a chip. Anyway back to the grind.
  11. Not sure about the latest reincarnation! https://www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/en/electric-vans/electric-and-hybrid/id-buzz.html
  12. Style! If it’s original it’s probably got a 1200cc engine whereas the the one I learned in was a very late model and had 2l engine.
  13. Seen at Whitby station earlier this week and I wasn’t the only one taking pictures. I learned to drive in one of these, though not a chopped one. Still remember the handbrake lever coming out from just under the centre of the dash.
  14. Whitby earlier this week.We even found somewhere the did gluten free fish and chips and allowed dogs in, ( well on at the tables outside on the pavement.)
  15. Evening All, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAZ, I hope you’ve had a good day. I dropped my camera while on holiday last week, on fact on the first day, I hadn’t even taken a picture. I thought I’d just broken the filter but on further inspection I’ve damaged the body, the metering system is U.S. As mentioned before the body is quite old and the battery compartment doesn’t secure properly. To cut a long story short, it’s not worth paying for it repairing but this range of camera is now discontinued. The new mirrorless cameras by the same manufacturer are not fully compatible with the lenses that I have. I think the choice is get the next body up in the range of buy a second hand body. Decisions, decisions. Or I could do nothing. Goodnight.
  16. A parts bin special, a Bedford CF VAN no less!
  17. Never seen one of these before. Not a good shot but conditions where poor and I was in a rush. I couldn’t get a picture from the front but I like the stying though the rear light cluster looks bit clumsy.
  18. Evening All, Been to Whitby today as we felt that after mil had looked after Hovis while we were away in Spain she deserved a day out. I think me and SWMBO need a day out now as it was hard work. Didn’t even get to Beck Hole as I believe there’s something that may interest me there. We really could have done without spending the day out as jobs related to selling mums house and the old business premises are becoming urgent but seems that I’m the only one seeing it that way. I’d rather have stayed at home, got some jobs done and have a hour of drivelling. I’m not sure I’ll be suggesting day trips out again it just not worth the hassle and headache. On a positive note I went to the MRC last night and work is progressing nicely on the fabric of the club rooms. Enough moaning, the washing machine needs emptying. Goodnight.
  19. Morning All, Just had breakfast as I can’t sleep. We’ve got Sydney for a sleepover and he’s becoming very timid/anxious. He doesn’t like the window open or the Dyson fan on at night so we have all suffered but by the looks of it me in particular! Sydney’s asleep in one of his baskets and Hovis is stretched out on my side of the bed. Not sure what the day holds but as Baz has commented on, rain is due in this part of the country. Maje the most of your day.
  20. I thought it was already in the public domain, and me being almost computer illiterate couldn’t find it. If others are interested I wouldn’t mind a few more exerts. Enjoy the rest of your time over there.
  21. Evening All, Despite what I must admit sounded like a rant earlier, I did manage to get a bit of work done. In fact I believe the VAT return is ready for submission but I’m going to have another look tomorrow. Since returning from my walk abouts I’ve done three things that I hate doing. 1) Interaction with an estate agent in regards to Mums property up here. 2) Been to see a car (well van really) salesman 3) Been to a wedding reception. On a Sunday, 90minutes away, everyone including bride and groom from Barnsley. Started at 7:30, food at 9:30 but at least, as promised, gluten free option was available. Not much to report but took SWMBO for physio on her foot. Accident happened eight weeks ago and still it’s swollen and painful. Goodnight.
  22. Where can one find this blog?
  23. Continuing with the Japanese travel thread, here's a picture from my holiday in 2019, Sakaiminato I think. The town has many cartoon type characters made of stone adorning the streets and the DMU's livery is connected with this.
