Evening All, Day much as predicted but at least i got the books be a balanced as i disappeared for an hour or so. After tea went MRC for a bit of R &R but plenty of juniors about being ‘juniors’ Getting my late so goodnight.

Morning All, Better get a shuffle on. Picking elder nephew up from home at 10 and entertaining him for the day. This will also include mil so a joyous day can be expected.

Evening All, Couldn’t get the iPad to connect to the internet earlier which coincided with a period of thunder and lightning. Anyway as I can’t sleep now I thought May as well make a report. Took dogs down to Cannon Hall and had lunch there and from early afternoon until 5.00 did some paperwork at which time the nephews arrived. By the time tea was finished and dogs had had their final walk I’d had enough and was happy to retire to the spare room for a bit of peace. At which point the heavens opened and the storm began. Que much scurrying about as both dogs and nephews arnt keen on the thunder and lightning but all quiet now with Hovis and myself tucked up in the spare bedroom. Ive been hoping to do a bit of the ‘M’ word recently but when the time comes I can never think any little jobs to do so have made a list of items that can be done without too much aggravation. Had pie and mash for tea, nephew’s choice and am suffering a bit now. Over the last few months I think I’ve developed a bit of IBS, something that I may have had very occasionally in the past but now the bouts ave becoming much move frequent, perhaps every week or two. Bil says he’ll pick the boys up in the morning AND remove some of his crap treasured possessions from my garage. Now I know he’s talking B.S. Got the tummy gurgles again so, Goodnight

Where there’s a will……….

I had a Britomart which I had to return as I couldn’t get it to run satisfactorily but managed to get another that, after a bit of running in did work ok. After a friend helped me out at work and I gave him Britomart as I’d rather have the recently announced Holywar. I was a little apprehensive but I think I can make ‘runner’ out of it. I’ve seen a thread on here about them so will refresh my knowledge on what to check. I don’t do DCC on my 009 as most of the stock is up to 40years old and some of the locos are almost solid white metal bodies and I built the layout partly for nostalgic reasons. I do like the quarry Hunslets and would like on open cab version. Holywar seems ok as a ‘train’ loco but I’d rather shunt with a white metal bodied Ibertren Cuckoo.

Morning All, Had Sydney for a sleepover and nephews are coming for one tonight so looks like a busy day. Not sure what time they’re coming but weather forecast isn’t too good so probably as well taking the dogs out sooner rather than later. After tea yesterday I almost got some muddling done, well I thought what I could do but by the time I’d decided and taken dogs for their last walk of the day it was getting a bit late to get things out and mojo was disappearing . I did have a little play with Holywar and think it will benefit from a decent running in session. As I said better get a more on as usual we’ve not been informed when our guests will be arriving, they will just arrive. Don’t know whether lunch is to be provided or even if tea will be expected but we are assuming the later. In this digital age you would have thought the communication would be a bit better. I think that may be considered a mini rant.

Many years ago Peco 009 flexible track came in smaller lengths then the standard gauge equivalents. 18inch v 3ft. Now it come in the same size. Is this the (only) difference? The ‘X’ denoting the ‘new’ longer length which was subsequently removed when only the 3ft length was available.

Got a book and mag whilst at Meadowhall and Hollywar arrived a day early. It’s been tested and runs well which is a relief as an earlier version wasn’t so good and had to be returned. Evening All, A relatively productive day here. Its one year since we moved into the new business premises so we had a little celebration at lunch time which coincided with a visit to the old premises/Mums house by someone doing an energy efficiency survey. Loaded the van up with a load, and I mean load of old invoices that I have arranged to be disposed of. A trip up the M1 tomorrow should see that job sorted. After that, we’ll. it much but I’m happy. Tomorrow sister, Mum and nieces are coming up to Meadowhall so we arranged to meet them for lunch. Could be another busy day. Goodnight.

We (my club)had a similar situation. Item stollen from Doncaster toy fair and didnt bother reporting it to police. About a month later it appeared. Police were informed and we got item back. Maybe time to contact police. (Or at least make the threat ) Good luck.
