Morning All, Tigger’s bounce been missing for while. Dont know what today holds but paperwork is mounting up and the garden is looking a mess. Swmbo’s foot is not showing much improvement and she still has trouble walking. My team put in a decent performance yesterday in the away leg so hopefully a positive result on Friday evening will lead to a trip ‘down the smoke’ at the end of the month. I suppose I’d better get up as ignoring the jobs makes things worse. I think another coffee before I start anything as I did have breakfast early. @monkeysarefun, I am watching you! Bettagetamoveon.

I have a passing interest in ships and note that this ship is designed to load /unload from the starboard side. I’ve traveled on the Hurtigruten service quite a few times and note the hold access doors n their ships are only on the port side.

The only night I spent in hospital as child was spent in a bed next to a ‘Mr Moon’. Probably about 6 years old at the time and no paediatric ward.

Further to my early post, Emley Moor transmitting station’s tower is a grade 2 listed structure and when completed in the early 70’s was the sixth tallest freestanding structure in the world. (Now 25th) and can be clearly seen from our kitchen window. Evening All, Ive had a day out, unfortunately not to London but to see the UK’s tallest free standing structure. Unfortunately it was cloudy so didn’t see it in its full glory. Funny day really, we couldn’t decide what to do so decided to take the old motor home out for a spin but didn’t know where we were going when we set off.. Called off at motorway services for a takeout sarnie and ended up at Emley Moor where we used the facilities in the van to make a hot drink. Another example of our extravagant lifestyle. What shall we do tomorrow? Goodnight.

Sydney earlier this week. He loves the chew but we don’t let him have it for too long as he ends up with bleeding gums. I think he afraid that if he falls asleep the chew will disappear.

When I visit the IPMS event at Telford, I’m always in awe of the quality of the maritime models even though it’s aircraft that I particularly interested in. I think the photo etched parts make more of a difference to ship models than any other, I’m thinking of gun barrels, railings and radar masts.

Interesting factoid regarding out of town shopping centres of South Yorkshire. This picture, taken from Fox Valley shopping centre car park (Stocksbridge) this morning, while waiting for mil, shows empty wagons from ‘Samuel Fox’s works’ The wagons will pass the carpark of Kilner Way Shopping Centre where we had lunch. They will travel on part of the Woodhead route, from Deepcar through what, if anything remains of, Sheffield Victoria station.

At least there’s a Smiths and a bookshop at Meadowhall. Marcway, used to go there quite regularly when I was collecting plastic kits to build but only go there now for paints etc.

The place has been recently extended and refurbished and after that, opening hours change. Its not clear on the website so rang up to confirm the shop was closed. Staff obviously busy doing mail order!
