  1. I was going to accuse you of being cheap for being bought so easily. Then I remembered Jack is probably exotic over there.
  2. Thank you. Looks like I'll need to dedicate a Kadee to the job. Did you guys leave NEM along with the EU?
  3. 1. GWR was crowded. Most recent release in N was the 56XX that I know of. Last large loco released was the Farish Castle, and that's a few years out now. 2. I highly doubt the old Poole-era Grafar King will penalize sales of a modern King much. I'd be curious to see how much the old Poole Castle hurt sales of the China Castle, for a comparison. 3. Agreed, that's dirty laundry that'll linger for a while 4. We weren't slapped in the face with news and media about the King (or the Garrett) like other, more successful recent releases have. You could hardly turn a magazine page or weblink without hearing about the 56XX. I can recall maybe 1 release about the King (or the Garrett since they've been announced.
  4. Agreed. I'm honestly surprised Dapol didn't go King & Castle. I don't think they've touched N GWR since DJ left, so maybe not that surprised.
  5. If the hotel was curved, and is the low-relief with the green doors, could you section the rear to curve the facade gently? Looks like you have some 1" of depth you could curve into.
  6. That could be a livery in of itself. Any plans for a 'bookset' akin to Dapol marketing with a 27 and a short rake of Conflats?
  7. Do you have issues with NEM pockets on the OR wagons? I've found the ones on my Toad are too short for swallowtails.
  8. Top link power tends to sell well, if priced right. The only reason I could see a King not selling is KR being known as a 'crowdfunded' make.
  9. I'd suggest spinning the wheel arrangement, to 2-6-0, but then you may as well build a prairie of some sort. I know a couple of Welsh lines built 0-8-2s. Would that have been the next stage from a 56XX?
  10. You've had luck laying yellow over blue? I've always followed the recommendation of lighter colors first. No bleed?
  11. The outside frame Saint makes me think of what an outside-frame Castle might look like. Were there any UK outside-frame, outside-cylinder locomotives? Standard gauge, I should mean. Not uncommon on narrow gauge.
  12. Both of those have been posted here before, and may have even originated on this thread. I wish I had graphics chops. Just had an idea for an 0-4-2+2-4-0 Beyer-Garratt with something like 12ft wheels.
  13. Looks excellent. No cracked wooden wheels, either.
  14. I mean, that's valid. Offering that kind of cheek from the factory is a lark I can stand behind, though.
  15. Are you going to completely scratchbuild it? Or will you pick up one of the Brawa funicular kits?
  16. A blessing in disguise. I have too much coaching stock as-is.
  17. I had been under the impression that the 43XX was a response to the running department's request for (basically) the Granges.
  18. How broad was Lion's travels in the 1930's? Only for shows?
  19. Should offer a 'misnumbered' green option for the Awdry fans out there. Anecdotally the reason for BoCo's BR number in The Railway Series.
  20. The green makes the loco look Bavarian. Any idea when the shift between the two LMS Blacks happened? I try to collect for 1933 now.
  21. Inside cylinders help with route availability - important with industrial or shunting locomotives. Also, as Johnster stated, the Austerities were evolutionary, not revolutionary. Probably a common part, with tooling to hand.
  22. Suitable for a Jumbo, then. That'd be a sight - Jumbo and Jones double-heading. Especially in preservation colors.
