  2. I think this tripod is more in keeping with the era!!!
  3. I though Patrick Head was going back part time to help sort things out, but seemed only to appear at one race.
  4. Silver Dream Machine - David Essex
  5. My favourite gaff was seeing a warm time drama with the land girls driving a grey T20 Fergie tractor. They didn't appear until the early 50's with a straight petrol engine.
  6. I think it was the South Devon Railway and I also think 3205 has been out of service for a few years. So could be stock footage. Ripper Street wasn't immune to railway gaffs either as seen here Clever all the same
  7. Williams just seem to go from bad to worse. It's a crying shame as I've supported them for more years than I care to remember. I used to watch them loading the cars from the road outside the factory. That bay is now Screwfix! They don't seem to have a presence in the pit lane anymore. I can't remember when anyone other than the drivers were interviewed. All the other team principles and pit wall crew seem to talk to the media. If you happen to plan to be in Oxfordshire at any point it's worth checking out their museum tours. I took my Dad and two boys on a summer school holiday tour. It's a lot cheaper than a normal tour, still not cheap, but so worth it.

  14. This has made me think. Whilst the damage to my wife's car is annoying and feels personal, its not the end of the world. A Corsa bonnet new is about £70, I could spray it myself. Which is cheaper than the excess on her policy. We do live in a quiet area of Didcot (there are some) and its only frequented by walkers and learner drivers. However escape to the open country side is only across the road through other gardens. If I got an alert at night would I go outside to tackle the criminal...probably not, I'd more likely shout out the window. Id like to think I'm more use to the wife and boys with out a knife stuck in me! So I guess the question is why get CCTV? I think its the perception that we will feel safer and potentially catch a criminal. Its a deterrent. We can check on the house when we are away. We already have a Foscam inside for such purposes, so it would be an extension of that assurance.
  15. Never fails to amaze me the wiring bodges people carry out. In our old house there was a copper nail instead of fuse wire in the old 30A fuse. I replaced it on discovering it. Only for it to blow one Christmas when I turned the heater on in the workshop. I met the wife in the garden as everything in the house was off as well. Subsequently found out the whole house was on a single 30 Amp spur! Even the old wall mounted single bar heater was on the lighting circuit. Soon got that rectified. Moved to 1960s bungalow to find that the kitchen wiring was just in the plaster and in places went 45 degrees across the wall! I went to put a bracket up outside for my wifes hanging basket. One hole coincided with the cement between two bricks. Started to drill the hole and flash, bang wallop I'm on the floor! Son sticks his head out the window "dad the wifi has gone off"! Some muppet had hidden a wiring run in the mortar bed for some of the out door lights!
