Yes please. Cab ride in 37262 during the run round at Kyle of Lochalsh in 1987. Weathering this would keep me busy while waiting for page 501…. -

Thank you for the update. Getting very excited about the prospect of new motive power for Millburn. -

37262 in LL would be very nice. A personal favourite as I got a cab ride during the run round at Kyle of Lochalsh. -

I am eagerly awaiting my 37027 and 37043 for my 1980s era Millburn layout. In the meantime I have mostly been building Cambrian wagon kits….😀 -
Class 50, By Accurascale

Great news. I love 50s in 1980s LL. Would certainly buy either 50035 (spent 3 years on the big grey version) or 50036 ( my only cab ride on one, a wet Friday night in 1990 when it was towing a failed HST from BTM to PM depot) John -

I would very much like a re-run of the British Rail Sherpa van and a Royal Mail one without the Welsh part of the logo.

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
37501 replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I don’t know which Deltic power unit you would be buying as both a 9 cylinder and an 18 are shown. The 9 is ex Royal Navy and a different beast to the ones in the locomotive. The RN ones originally fitted to the Hunt Class MCMV were either main engines with a gearbox to drive a propeller shaft or an auxiliary engine driving a pulse generator and 4 hydraulic pumps. The pulse generator was part of the minesweeping equipment and the hydraulic pumps were used to power the gearboxes on the main engines when they were shut down, giving slow speed drive. Spent two years on a Hunt and discovered sea sickness…. I was later told that the best cure is to sit under a tree. My next draft was to Ark Royal.! -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale

Is this the most anticipated model ever…? Slightly out of my layout’s time frame of mid 1980s but I am very curious to see how they turn out having pre ordered two Scottish Class 37s from RoS. -
66734 was on display in the stabling point adjacent to Eastleigh station this morning. I was amused to see people who would not normally be interested in trains taking photos of it with their mobile phones. Looks very striking in this livery. Well done to GBRf and Arlington paint shop.

I would take the body off and check that the motor turns freely by hand and that the drive shafts are secured at both ends. Just fitted sound to my one so had the top off. Drive assembly is relatively easy to get to. Hope this helps John

That’s good thinking. Might allow me to get my 2 Accurascale 37s in under the radar.

Looking forward to my one arriving. With the size of the box, though, the wife will think that I have bought another locomotive….

Here are my storage tanks which I scratch built using some plastic drain pipe, plastic card, plywood and cardboard. Layout is a long way from complete… John -

Hi Jonny, Glad to be of help. On painting the brake wheels, cut a small slot in a piece of paper and slip this behind the wheel. This way you won’t get white paint on the bogie. Still on the brake wheels. I drilled a very small hole in the back of them and glued in a piece of thin wire. Attach to the bogie by drilling a similar hole and gluing in place. This locates the wheels and makes them less prone to being knocked off. John

Good morning Jonny, I built 3 Cambrian BBA wagons so can offer the following advice: 1. Build first, using a suitable plastic kit glue, and then paint, apply decals and weather. 2. I glued long strips of aluminium to the underside in order to strengthen the wagon. Also, small offcuts of mild steel to add weight, Araldite works well with these metal add ons. 3. I had to manufacture brackets which allowed the fitting of Kadee couplings. 4. i would recommend applying aerosol plastic primer before spray painting your choice of top coat. Mine was Bauxite. Decals need a gloss finish for best results. Again, a spray can of varnish from Railmatch. Finally, dull down with Matt varnish and weather. 5. A very nice wagon to build and a satisfying result. I am happy to run mine with the exquisite Cavalex RTR ones. I hope this helps. John

Looks like a nice little weathering project to run with my Cambrian Sturgeon. The grey will make a good base coat for various washes in order to create the wood effect. Really looking forward to these appearing. John

Great job of modifying the Hornby crane, DMU 156, and I am intrigued by your plans to motorise the mechanism. I guess that would require a level of craftsmanship far beyond mine... I did a rough representation of the Cowans Sheldon crane and found it to be a challenging and fiddly project but with a very satisfying end result John
