  1. Really like your wagon shed project and what can be done in a small space. I have a wagon repair depot at one end of my Millburn layout. The shed was scratch built on an aluminium frame. I have recently installed LED lights in it. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing this progress. John
  2. Here is my Loriot at Millburn. It is loaded with a Drott excavator which came from a Langley Models white metal kit.
  3. To be honest, I have never had the sound cut out so I fitted these as a precaution. They are ESU 50346. Passive Radiator 8 ohm. A straight swap for the existing speaker. Richard said that most of his last batch had sold out on pre order so there might be a wait to obtain one.
  4. Here are 37027 and 37043 in their natural habitat at Millburn. Both have been fitted with the replacement 8 ohm speaker as recommended by Roads and Rails. When connected in parallel with the sugar cube this brings the total impedance up to a better figure. Both have ran faultlessly at the two day Lymington show and were my star performers. Just need an Accurascale 37262 in large logo….
  5. I guess I am in the minority as a firm believer of fixing nameplates with super glue. I apply masking tape around the area where the plate is going. This is applied very carefully to ensure the plate is going on level. A very small amount of glue is applied to the area on the end of a cocktail stick and the plate fixed in place. Guaranteed not to come off when the loco is handled…. John
  6. I saw the pics of 69009 online so dropped everything for a quick trip to Eastleigh yesterday afternoon. Loco had been moved to East Yard. Had to sit on the car roof in the rain to get a shot over the very high fence at the adjacent housing estate…. John
  7. Hi John, I eventually decided to buy this kit and I’m very happy with it. Currently built and painted all over yellow prior to painting all the non yellow parts and weathering. Best wishes John
  8. Has anyone bought one of these kits please? I am looking for a suitable load for my Rapido Loriet Y wagon. The kit box appears to show the larger O scale model so not sure of the quality of the kit or the dimensions of the finished product. Many thanks John
  9. Yes please to 37262 in Large Logo as seen here. Probably my most wanted 37 in OO. This would compliment my 37027 and 37043 on Millburn. Was lucky enough to get a cab ride running round the stock at Kyle of Lochalsh in 1987.
  10. Mine’s is staying as 56120 in my favourite large logo. I am, however, wondering how easy it would be to remove the radio telephone aerials from the cab roofs. I always associated the high numbered ones as Gateshead allocated in the mid 1980s.
  11. Loving my sound fitted 56120. This really has the wow factor for me. Far too clean though. Weathering in due course. Very well done to the team at Cavalex.
  12. Very nice weathering and bulldozer Darren. I have been struggling to find a OO scale bulldozer with a cab like the one on the Paul Bartlett photograph.
  13. Managed to find a suitable replacement laptop charger. I haven’t encountered any problems with it so far. Hopefully this will prove to be a reliable solution.
  14. I have an older Bachmann Dynamis DCC controller. The mains plug / transformer / cable has become defective. I have been online and so far unable to source a replacement. The plug has an ESU part number. I contacted them and they gave me details of an expensive universal power supply. No success whatsoever in trying to contact Bachmann. I have heard that a laptop charger could be a cheaper alternative. The existing plug has mains AC input and 16v DC 2.3 Amp output. The DC tip is 5.5/2.5mm. Does anyone know of a suitable plug and cable please? I have been online and there are a lot to choose from. I would like something reliable.
  15. Has anyone ever seen this one please? I have a Bachmann Class 45 locomotive, 45048 which was a Modelzone limited edition a few years ago. It runs very smoothly in both directions and at any speed on DC. When running on DCC sound with a Loksound decoder, it runs smoothly in one direction but stutters in the other direction. I can’t see anything obvious which would cause this problem. Having the sound on or off makes no difference. I intend to strip down the bogie gearing this week to clean and lubricate. I will also swap the bogies round to see if that makes any difference. Just keen to ask if anyone else has had this issue and what their solution was. Many thanks. John
