  1. Excellent day, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with like minded modelers, first class layouts, Crowsnest stood out for me closely followed by Pen-y-Craig. Well done to all involved.
  2. Yes had the same 12mths ago, started to drill broken part and it was loose in wheel, lucky escape.
  3. Check the motor has sound deadening pads top and bottom.
  4. The S & M was one of the Colonels lines, full of used stock he could get from anywhere. A must would be Gazelle sitting somewhere, his icon loco.
  5. It would be nice if they run better out of the box, instead of having to work on them to get them to run correctly.
  6. Keep running it in at 50% power. it will get better, mine took a hour in each direction.
  7. They were not contactable all last week.
  8. On the subject of the early 68s with the extra copper wire on the PCB, I have now seen two locos with running problems, both had the copper wire trapped under the chip causing short, so be careful when fitting or removing decoders or blanking plates.
  9. This is the 1st issue with the extra copper wire and no disc on wheels
  10. The chassis looks like the latest release in that it does not have the thin extra copper wires the early ones had.
  11. The cause of the noise in one direction is the motor moving in its mounting, a piece of thick double sided tape stuck to the motor or housing will cure the noise.
  12. IF. the 121 is the same design as there 122 i would suspect the top of the bogie has broken off. 122 have suffering this.
  13. No problem, i think you had a lucky escape, it was not worth the money it made. You can get mint ones for £120.
  14. There was nothing wrong with the loco, in fact it was a perfect silent runner, it was stripped to create a dummy, all the parts will be kept for future spare if needed. The point of the picture was to show others how the motors are secured.
  15. The motor pushes into two lugs to secure it
  16. It is from the bogie inside the loco ANT, so i dont understand what you are referring too.
  17. Its from this loco without ant doubt, as for the super glue idea it would not last the first bend on any layout.
  18. It also stops the bogie turning to far.
  19. My 122 arrived today, and yes i got the extra bit in the bottom of the box too. Another oh dear Dapol loco.
