  1. Even younger modeller here, don't often post in this thread as most of the time I honestly don't have much of a clue about what's going on and I never build anything interesting Anyway, I've never seen the appeal in train simulators, or really any kind of simulators to be honest. I guess it's a genre that really isn't of much interest to me and the DLC add ons for the sims are usually well over priced in my opinion. As for draining the traditional way of modelling, I'm not so sure, there's still a big difference between the two and I'd much rather have something real to show for my efforts than a virtual railway that'll be deleted once the next game comes out. Each to their own I guess, but unless there's a drastic upgrade in the games, I don't see simulators splitting the hobby by a large margin And there are a fairly large number of us young uns about, just have to keep an eye out for us!
  2. Thanks Peter As Matt has already said, there are quite a few of us teenagers about on here, just got to look hard! Unfortunately, I'm too skint to fit kadees to 11 locos and over 40 wagons (at last count anyway) so I'll be sticking to the old wire on a screwdriver handle! Couldn't agree more, the name Boris springs to mind.... Thanks Andy, it sure has, it's still wierd looking back at those pictures which are going on two years on now! And if anyone's wondering where I've been, I've been sampling the delights of the British education system and this site was too distracting. Will
  3. 19 exams done and I'm back with 4000 notifications. Holy...

  4. Thanks Jock, I just need to copy it now for the front of the layout Thanks shaun I'm glad you are (no pressure now!) I still have the goods shed to build yet, I have the brick paper and hopefully I'll do a decent job. As for future layouts, we'll have to see. Probably going to have to wait until uni is out of the way
  5. Thanks Bodgit and I'm glad you are Aye, over two pages

Shame it's the end of Bluestone 42 - Hopefully just this series and not the comedy, does feel rather as if it's sadly going though.

  7. Somewhere in the East, wouldn't risk it, could be dangerous! I'd stay in the wonderful area of Nottinghamshire
  8. Thanks William, although the real credit goes to Craig It's well worth a look and you get a free horrible photo of me (top advertising there! ) And I've edited the post as I forgot to put the correct crediting
  9. Rmweb is being a bit slow so I'm not sure if this will work Anyway, Craig Tiley (Railway Modellers photographer) has kindly sent me the photos published in Railway Modeller taken by him so I can post them on here and use them in advertising the layout. They have had to have been shrunk by quite a bit to upload them here, but they're well worth showing as they're much better than what I've managed. As (I think) I previously said, I was having my lunch when most of these were taken, but I definitely remember the up the line shot of the 4f and holding my map up at the backscene to block the hall lights at Warley!! All photos are credited to Craig Tiley, Railway Modeller magazine.
  10. Unfortunate with the damage and let's hope you get some more invites. But at least you found a new signal box. I recommend using Microsoft paint for resizing photos as it's pretty quick
  11. I'm just joking, I doubt anyone will have taken any offence from you asking
  12. As far as I know, they were towed by other locos
  13. Thanks Jock, and I've just realised that that was my 1,500th post!

  19. Here I was thinking you'd started another layout. I'd completely forgotten about this one for some reason. I blame a brain fart (it does smell a bit in here now you mention it) And this was linked at the bottom of Bodgits thread. I remember when I saw the first video you did of this layout, how many years a go it was now (3?) and being ever so slightly jealous... Good to see you've started a thread for this now as I don't use youtube any more for various reasons!
  20. Nothing actually new, but a well known youtuber (Keralis) who has 1.3 million subscribers and does gaming videos (and no I don't watch the minecraft ones before anyone asks) , mentioned in a video that he'd like to get into model railways. So I sent him an email with a few pictures attached and I didn't expect him to read it, never mind reply and repost the photos elsewhere, as well as mention it in his latest video. The gallery is linked below. Like I said, nothing actually new, but I thought it was pretty cool! http://imgur.com/gallery/XlX6U (the photos) https://www.youtube.com/user/Keralis
  21. Looks good as always Squatch, I really like that last pic of the Ivatt and at least you're not having to weather 25 wagons in a week like I did before Warley!
