  1. A bit more work has been done on the bus depot, with a new wall and fence built.Enjoy
  2. Thanks Steve for all of the above info, good to know about the BW Model kits,I could do with a couple of army landrovers to go with the 'Pig'. The model of Fane Street school is from the Bachmann Scenecraft range and I picked it up from ebay. It is a low relief model which bore a resemblance to Fane Street which I attended when it was a secondary school. I believe it is now a primary or nursery school. As in the title, most things modelled are a lookalike to the originals,a throwback to my childhood days in Belfast.
  3. Thanks Steve. The 'Pig' is indeed a BW Models kit. I also have another 4 BW Models RUC landrovers awaiting painting, still can't seem to find the right shade of grey! Pity BW Models are no more, their range was fantastic.
  4. Nice work Kieran, always a relief when the hard work looks like it has worked out fine, which it has here, well done
  5. Having just looked back over my layout thread,I can't believe that it was started 4 years ago! That really brings it home that progress has been slow, with still so much to do!! Thanks to all who have contributed to the thread over those years, hopefully further progress will continue to hold your interest.
  6. Nice compilation Kieran, the Portrush Flyer brings back some memories
  7. Kieran, once again you have pushed the boat out in your workmanship. Great job and nice attention to detail. As you know I am no great steam fan,but your GNR loco's and how you have achieved them are impressing me. A special from GVSt......hmmm.
  8. Sorry Stuart, look away now for the next photo.Below are some further additions to the Belfast Corporation bus fleet, all getting ready for a days work in Belfast. All the buses represented were still in use with the Corporation until at least 1970,with quite a few transferring to Citybus in 1973.Very few red buses escaped the troubles in the 70s,the vast majority ending up being hi-jacked and burned out! Some were unlucky enough to be re-entered to service and endure the same fate!
  9. The signal cabins look superb on the layout, with the interior lighting really bringing them to life. As if that was not enough,a superb looking DH just caps it all
  10. Nice kit Kieran and well built. It has captured the feel and look of Antrim signal cabin perfectly. The interiors look amazing
  11. The Merlinir box vans look good but I particularly like your buses. Nice paint finish on both with a good build finish. All will be great additions on Kirley Junction.
  12. Nice finish Kieran, looks like a nice but very old looking coach. Mahogany is a very hard colour to get right, but the picture looks pretty good to me.
  13. Nice build,is this the first of the New Year!! Nice iconic vehicle from the past, your fleet from the 60s/70s era is progressing along well and really capturing the era effectively.
  14. You have finished them of well Kieran, nice attention to detail with the handles and roof, need to be making a start on my own!
  15. Nice work Kieran, I see the workbench has been busy over Christmas. The paint work and interiors really set the coaches off. Look forward to seeing them finished.
  16. Nice start Kieran,JM Designs etched sides are great quality and a joy to work with.Nice job with the roofs, look forward to seeing them progress
  17. A real superb build Kieran, the paintwork is very crisp and a credit to your dedication.I really like it,one will definitely will be coming to GVSt soon, platform 1 is just crying out for it,well done in getting Worsley Works to producing it
  18. Superb video Kieran, pure nostalgia. The railcars in UTA green with the green bus and UT van at the level crossing just shouts 60s,great job
  19. A bit more work done on the layout rebuild, but much much more still to do! The following 2 photo's show the new third line that has been installed, which represents the third line that ran from Adelaide to the Grosvenor Road goods yard. The walls still need to be finished, with lots more in the town area to be done also. All the usual tedious stuff like ballasting will happen eventually, but the essence of the photo's give an image of how things are progressing.Anyway, the first photo shows a close up of a K15,the middle coach in a 3 car AEC railcar, leaving GVSt.Behind it is Hunslet 102 on Enterprise duty heading to its destination while sister loco 101 is shunting CIE coaching stock that had arrived earlier on a shopping special. The back of the police station can be seen above the wall. The next photo shows a more overall view of the AEC and Hunslets along with the signal box that will be modified to represent Belfast North signal cabin.Above the railway, the general view shows more of the police station, with the bus depot further in the background.A small glimpse of where the fire station will be located can be seen in the far background.
  20. The DHs never operated any revenue carrying passenger trains, being confined to more humble duties. No 2 was allocated to the Great Northern section and started life at Gt Victoria Street as the replacement for the Harlandic for removing the empty carriages from the platforms.i don't know if it was its performance, but the Harlandic quickly re-established its position, until its demise, replacing the loco that had came to replace it!! As a bye note,I built a couple of these loco's,certainly not to Hiddenagenda's standard for Kieran which is fantastic, for my own layout about 10 years ago,one of which can be seen on my layout thread along with my version of the NIR weed killing train.Modelling NIR in the 70s really gives you a diverse choice of things to model!
  21. A few photo's from the layout rebuild shows the new church that has been added to the layout beside the revamped RUC station. It is a memory from my childhood,as I went to Sunday school in a single storey church that stood beside the original Lisburn Road police station, that had been turned into a fortress due to the 'troubles'. A bit like chalk and cheese, such was life in Northern Ireland at the time.
  22. Nice video and nice DH Kieran, thanks for sharing
  23. Tedious work Kieran,but worth it,looking good
  24. Lovely work Kieran, nice smooth lines and the blend between the roof and the driving compartment is brilliant. Like it a lot, well done
  25. Och hey Stu,don't go slagging my Irish railcars and Belfast red buses, remember in my day (your day) we were locomotive starved in NI,no class 20,24,25,26,31,37,47s in my neck of the woods! Thanks for your comments on the layout.Good to see you back posting again and thinking of getting back into your railway room,it would be good to see some more updates from Blue with yellow faces.
