In answer to the equipment layout. The DC kits instructions show the layout or does for the 3D kit I have. If anyone has the instructions they could scan the right page and send it to you. I have temporarily lost mine and am on a quest to find the right page somewhere in the house. Keith

Try Combe down tunnel in Bath. On a curve and a gradient and some weird music in the middle. Have run through it a few times. Oh and it’s 1.6 km long. Keith

You (might) Have to Speak English
KeithHC replied to The Stationmaster's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Well I try when abroad and can manage to order two beers in about five different languages! but getting back to the suggestion of use of English one has to ask at what standard. As has been said before English is the standard language of aviation. A few years ago ICAO deemed that all commercial licences had to include a test on the use of English and graded it I believe from 1 to 5. One being the lowest to five being the highest. Yet most at the time British pilots could only get a level 3 or 4 despite being fluent and this was down to pronunciation. Mainly in the correct according to ICAO of pronucing “Thousand” to comply with ICAO the correct way is to say “Tousand”. Maybe we should charge Europe for using English……………. Large express services originating from obscure locations
KeithHC replied to 18B's topic in UK Prototype Questions
Ah the Pembroke Coast express my Saturday morning wake up when we lived in Kilgetty. Especially after a stop at Kilgetty station and the climb to Cold Blow summit. On the subject of the Pembroke and Tenby there was also through services from Tenby to Brighton. Another operation not long distance but part of the Southern network. Electric services into Hastings went through to Ore. Keith -

You could turn those baseboards into the frames for a carriage or wagon. Keith -
Over the past two years I have begun to get to grip with 3D design and printing. I have a couple of questions which I know you are all able to answer for me. A bit of background I have an Ender 3 pro filament printer bought for me as a present by my Wife. After several false starts I now use Designspark Mechanical. I needed software that was stand alone as I was having lots of WiFi issues. I have been drawing various versions of BR(S) DEMUs. So far I have managed sides for Hasting short, too also cover the 3R Tadpole. For the Hampshire units including the Berkshire variation and as most sides are to standard sizes also the Oxted units. Now I know that a filament printer has limitations and as such as I finish a design I do a print just as a prototype to see if I am on the right line. All of these are being done to 4mm scale. Now to the questions at long last…….. What resin printers can print out a whole BR mk1 coach body. My Wife wants to buy me a resin printer in addition to the Ender. But I will not rush to the first one available I want to make sure I get it right from the beginning. I am aware that filament has its limitations and therefore at the moment other than windows and door edges there is no fine detail on each design. Do you design at much larger size and scale down or at 4mm. So far I have managed to get down to a rectangle of .25mm width yet I would need to be able to do roof conduits hand rails etc. This would be for printing out on the resin printer. Many thanks for staying with me so far. Keith

3D Print NEM pocket for Lima Mk3 required
KeithHC replied to dale159's topic in 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CAD & CNC
You are missing a couple of dimensions. The position of the standard NEM pocket are needed. As for 3D design not a problem just thinking aloud would this be best in filament as opposed to resin. Keith -
I have the same problem threading the chairs. Can anyone suggest a method that helps? Keith

Sorry can’t come up with a witty reply. Just off to prune the spaghetti trees……….. Keith

Going slightly off topic. But surely the two tunnels at Bath on the S&D where meant to be the worst. One engine crew died going through Combe Down tunnel. Keith -

Looking forward to build of the 6B. I am currently very very slowly doing a 3D design for firstly a Tadpole and then by adding in the TFK I will have a 6S. All in 4mm but might have a look at N gauge as well. Keith

Tewkesbury Shed and Quay Branch Exhibition Layout in EM Gauge.
KeithHC replied to lezz01's topic in Layout topics
Looks good to me. I have just 3D printed a template for a 45ft panel just to see if I could make short test track in EM. As for which loco either for me. Keith -
The 3D cabs are different a design panel got involved and produced a unique cab front. Keith

Ok 6B that begat 5L or 3H/2H or slim chance 3T and 3D so it must be a Kenny Belle. Keith lover of thumpers
