    I wish I trusted the Internet enough and knew how to book airline tickets on line. Just bought some via a travel agent and suspect I have paid over the odds.

      I book air travel online dozens of times per year. Rule 1: Airline websites have the best / lowest prices - all travel agents and "collection" sites like Expedia take a commission. Rule 2: sign up for the Airline Frequent Flier program. It can save you baggage fees, and reward you if you use them regularly. Rule 3: Cheap airfares from "budget" airlines may cost you more in the long run!

      (I fly over 200,000 miles per year in the USA.. )
