  1. G'Day Folks for you living in the the rest of the World, Australia has a bit of a problem at the moment, some A*******, has taken it upon 'IT's' self to insert Needles into our Strawberries, (and other fruit) which has given a few people a nasty surprise, it's now a case of cutting up your Strawberries, this is how one person deals with the problem. manna

  4. G'Day Folks Another update in the B1, the cab has been cleaned up an a roof added, the firebox has been filed down to a rough shape, ( I think the cab end, needs a bit more taking off) A smokebox door has been made out of a Hornby, King door. A chimney of questionable shape has been fitted, the next job is to make the splashers (which will be fun !) manna

  9. G'Day Folks Bit of an update on the B1, the basic outline of the loco can now be seen, with the card added for the cab and belpaire firebox, boiler has been glued into place, I had to grind some excess metal off of the chassis top yesterday, as it was a little high, might have to add a tad, as it's possibly a mite low. manna

  12. G'Day Folks Concrete around the fueling points, I found to be mostly dark grey, and a bit shiny, but some of the stones in the concrete, could be an 'Orangey' colour. manna
  13. G'Day Folks A couple of days has past, and the B1 continues to grow. I went out to the shed for something and noticed a pair of bodies from GWR Counties that had had the chassis nicked, the running plates bore more than a passing resemblance to the B1's runningplate, so off they came, I needed both as the B1 is longer, an afternoons work and we have a runningplate. manna
  14. G'Day Folks Has anyone built a 3 rail P4 layout !!!!!! manna
  15. G'Day Folks Well I'm back home again, after 3 weeks tripping round Australia, had a bit of rain, but the farmers needed it. After getting back home out came the 'Green Bible' I didn't find anything suitable for the J17, BUT, always on the lookout for another project, I found a couple, a Robinson B1 and B9, and both have almost the same wheelbase dimensions as a Hornby A1/3, The B1 has almost the same wheel size as the A1/3, hacking has commenced on a old A3 chassis ( I have half a dozen spare) also Atso has informed me that the B4 also is possible from the A1/3 chassis. The B9 needs to have a wheel change, I'm going to use Hornby L1 wheels, a mill small but close enough. Pics show before and after the rear end of the A1/3 chassis was cut off, I'm using a tender drive chassis at the moment, but hope to motorize it later. manna
