Ermm.. so you live in France, but don’t speak French? Must be inconvenient?

Lots of English Facebook users can't speak or write English properly but they can learn.  I'm sure Jamies French will improve more than those Brits that move abroad to live in Little Britain enclaves on the Costas.

Sunny day here in sunny Teignmouth.

Reverting to the subject of believing everything you read in the papers, I’ve just seen a little-reported sidelight on the current story about “NASA only having Large size spacesuits”.

It seems that the other woman had made an EVA a day or two earlier, using a Large size suit she had previously been fitted for. Following that exercise, and based on things you only find out by actually using equipment in its design environment, it was decided not to repeat the EVA. There WAS a second Medium suit, but it wasn’t mission-ready, so someone else went instead.

So it would seem that NASA/ISS simply acted in accord with established procedure, the task was achieved by personnel and resources available and generally, no lasting harm resulted... but it doesn’t make such a good story, does it?

So there was nothing in the rumour that the colour didn't match her handbag, the pattern didn't match up, the fabric was too hot for the Spring and she thought her bum looked a bit big in it?

Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit dull and overcast this morning but dry. An item on the 'fatberg' in Sidmouth on the BBC Breakfast show mentioned that in the fatberg was found a set of false teeth, I wonder if the owner wants them back.:jester:

Maybe the owner is in there also in a fatberg concretion.

  4. It wasn't an error by the flight crew.  The flight plan had been given to traffic controllers for Edinburgh.

The error was that nobody thought to tell the paying public.

  5. They said on the radio that the passengers boarded for Germany.

The flight plan was given to the crew for Edinburgh.

No passenger announcement was made on board that Edinburgh was the destination.

No passengers spotted the direction of flight.

Quite weird all round, apart from the fact that it seems legit in flight regulations.

    Over 30 seconds?

It typically takes me multiple attempts over 10 - 15 minutes to log on, then as long again to compose and save a post.  Very frustrating.  It is surely driving a number of folk away and I have no doubt is causing cyber-apoplexy in York Towers.

The email notification system appears terminally broken.  It was once only necessary to read the emails without logging into the site until ready to reply.  They arrived in order and within a minute or so after a post was made.  Since the "upgrade" they have arrived randomly out of order, not all topics I post in even generate them, I continue to receive as many as six notifications for a single post often two or three within a few minutes and then at intervals of hours afterwards.  My poor inbox is groaning; whereas once there might have been 50 emails for a day's worth of ER there are now something like 250 - 300 but for a lesser number of posts.  That takes a lot of deleting from a mobile phone where each has to be selected individually.

Enough whining - there is coffee to be drunk.  Or enough coughing - there is wine to be drunk.

    Instructions here.

  8. At first I struggled with the changes but after adjusting the settings as suggested its fine.  It is different to the previous version though and maybe that's what irks people.  I find the "search" facility a bit trying at times.

I can't find Vincent (DutchMaster) in the list of members. I might be wrong but ISTR that something was said here somewhere on the forum that upset him considerably.

He had a spat with AN Other and AY was also involved, things were not resolved and I think he departed shortly after.

Failed to locate any fellow RM webbers :( Not a bad visit though of course there was some congestion around the popular layouts and retailers.

I came away with a new pin vice, titanium bits, magnifyiing stand with solder holder and numerous lights and switches.

As they say in Germany, "the best laid plans of Meissen men".

  12. Overcast and sea mist here in sunny Teignmouth today.

The suspenders are killing me.  12.25 or 12.30? Under the palm or next to GM?  Pray tell how goes it.

Does driving incredibly slowly whilst holding the traffic behind you to ransom, as was done on the A30 yesterday not constitute an offence?

I also wear glasses but there's not much coming out of the top of my head apart from the occasional stream of blood. If you spot a miserable looking old git ...that could well be me.

Scaffolders have been and departed along with the roofer's bossman who was up there inspecting everything and helping them strike the scaffold, washed our windows and conservatory roof and swept up. Must admit I liked him and his blokes and when he asked very nicely if I could possibly pay them I agreed quite cheerfully!

That was quite a large amount but it does not affect the modelling tokens so although I'm not intending to buy anything tomorrow  (Cue Bob 81C saying "He always says that!" )  if I do see something I fancy I may be tempted. Hmmmm...should I bring a rucksack?

It's a bit early for beer o'clock but I may have to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of our home renovations and improvements.

It could be a "topping out" celebration.
