  1. Has eBay really been sensible for a week?! This is unbelievable!!!!
  2. It wouldn't be very hard to put a notice up saying that if they were...
  3. I understand the reasoning - Still annoying!! At the moment it is 3 days past the day it was meant to be up... :/
  4. Shows are really annoying as they take their site offline when there is a show on
  5. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-00-CLASS-158-DMU-NORTHERN-RAIL-NEW-/202024996081?hash=item2f09a0ccf1:g:uEIAAOSw7U5Y9gqH Someone got the shrinkwrap out...
  6. As someone who hardly ever posts on these forums but reads them a lot: I think people who don't want comments/discussion on bargains posted are being far too fussy. People need to be able to comment upon and discuss bargains as to establish whether a bargain is actually worth the money or not. People are being given a privilege to have a place which may occasionally alert them to a bargain of interest and naturally people will want to discuss the details of the bargain . I don't mind reading through peoples off-topic discussion and find it mildly entertaining. Perhaps off-topic discussion just needed to be more closely moderated... Personally, I saw bargain hunters as comparable to the ebay madness thread on wheel tappers (where people link to mad ebay listing and will then discuss them)... My arguments/thoughts are probably quite weak as it is next to impossible to balance. The only way I can instantly see/think of it working for everyone is if you had a [trackable (alert on thread creation)] sub-forum where each bargain was individually posted and then people can discuss the bargain on that thread within the sub-forum though that may become messy though people would probably be more likely to think twice before posting...
  7. Hello, I am having a problem with a Hornby Sapphire and I was wondering if anyone could help. I have a Hornby Sapphire in a Mk3 DVT I have motorized (with the motor from the cheap railroad like 395 javelin) (Yes, I know it's unrealistic but it's to give enough power for a Chiltern Silver Service - the contacts on the coaches for lighting add a lot of drag). In order to make sure it is not too fast, I have the speed limited on the decoder. set to an appropriate value to match the engine (can't remember the exact value) This works absolutely fine as it speeds up and slows down. The problem comes when I stop it. It will come to a stop fine. The loco and DVT both come to a stop and everything would be fine. However, for some reason, the DVT decides to power on again after about 1 and a half seconds and push again for just under a second and then it will stop again. The problem this causes is that it pushes the coaches so much the 2nd time that they derail and fall. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I can stop the DVT from doing this? Thanks in advance for any help!
  8. RealTrack 143/144 just derails all the time though (And I purposely went about making a new layout to be as level as possible to it could cope)! They are also very fragile/hard to take apart to put decoders in! All my Bachmann 2nd gen DMUs are really reliable, look good, hardly ever derail and have easy DCC installation [wring a DCC decoder in is much easier than it is to open up an RT model]! I haven't tried any 156s yet, but their livery process is so random nothing has appealed to me yet! I would rather wait for Bachmann for the 158. Personally, I think the old tooling for the 158 is fine for now and they should expand the range instead... Note that I do not think RealTrack is bad, it's just their modeling decisions aren't to my full likings, where as Bachmann is much closer to my full likings.
  9. Only seems to be weathered ones in stock unless they've sold out already?
  10. Any news on future liveries yet like Central Trains?
  11. H0T Lips!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Hornby-GMPTE-ORANGE-BROWN-2-CAR-CLASS-142-013-PACER-DIESEL-MULTIPEL-UNIT-6W/162522976824 Bit random and a little high on price (for a pacer though they tend to go for silly money on ebay anyway!)
  12. No we don't! I spent ages converting some!!!! I would hate to have better ones made which I have to spend more money on!!!
  13. Depends on the decoder. With the Zimo one I had, it was not capable to convert to a logic output. The Lok decoders have F3/4 as logic outputs. Dapol seem to have noticed this so re-wired (from original spec) it so that it works with these more popular decoders.
  14. Completed the wiring bypass. Quite fiddly soldering onto the pins. Mostly works though for some reason I had to use function outputs 4/5 rather than 3/4 though they still map onto F3/4.
  15. It certainly is; especially considering the diagram on the back only shows 6 function outputs. Maybe they've been sneaky and included motor +/- into the count. The online instructions seem to be some tangle of the same set of instructions for many decoders which seems impossible to work out what applied to which decoder! http://www.zimo.at/web2010/documents/MX-KleineDecoder_E.pdf
  16. I am getting a similar problem with lighting outputs with my Zimo MX632D which says it is MTC compatible and has 8 function outputs! F0 controls directional on cab end 1. F1 controls tails on cab end 2. F2 contrails headlights on cab end 2. Not sure how to get the halos working.
  17. My replacement came today. Was definitely a fault with the one I originally received as the issue just does not exist in the replacement one. Video of it running with coaches: [sorry for poor video quality - filmed with inbuilt tablet camera].
  18. Was DCC Ready. I tried increasing it on your suggestion - it worked for a bit then started not working again. Didn't read that bit. It worked apart from the halos so not too sure. Back to the shop for a return....
  19. Got mine today... For some reason, the other 5 functions of the 6 function DCC decoder won't work. And also when the train stops it won't restart until I give it a lot of pushing... As it's under warranty I haven't unscrewed anything but I can't see any obvious loose wires... Any ideas?
  20. Gosh, Hattons dispatch time is terrible. Ordered yesterday and not dispatched today. #NotImpressed.
  21. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAY-DISPLAY-CAR-PARK-CARD-KIT-FOR-OO-GAUGE-MODEL-RAILWAY-Hornby-1-76-DIECAST/291203806278?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D41415%26meid%3D564d1395d7e143608b90571d1f18c38d%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D371863283413 A pole mount is not sufficient for an Autoslot 88/89, for which this P&D machine is. Only the AS8 can be pole mounted as their cash is stored within the machine itself. The AS 88/89 stores the cash in the pedestal! Why oh why must they not detail the autoslots correctly?!? (At least it is an Autoslot and not some Parkeon P&D machine!) (Also at least the image is the right way up, unlike on Bachmann's model of them within the station modernisation kit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-00-Scenecraft-44-502-Station-Modernisation-Pack-New-00-/132059259552?hash=item1ebf5862a0:g:-D0AAOSwZJlXNJjT)
  22. Been spray painting platforms and joining up bridges today!
