  1. Wow, that looks very useful, thanks. Does the kit come with the plastic which curves over the axle aera?
  2. I tried it on one of my trains but it was just really hard to apply evenly meaning the loco just wobbled about way too much.
  3. Wow, no need to be so rude. I was always fully aware it was never going to be the full in-service livery. However virgin have put a lot emphasis and publicity into the new IEP trains, perhaps to the extend people may thing it as their own invention. There is no questioning that Virgin's brand colour is red. There is also no questioning that Virgin have had involvement with the IEP trains as they were going to be an operator of them. Because of Virgin associating with the colour red, and their brand being used on the East Coast franchise, and the test train being coloured primerially red, I think it is likely that when some people see the IEP model in this livery they will associate it with the ECML rather than the GWML hence causing thoughts about Virgin/Stagecoach and the failure of the VTEC franchise and perhaps be less enthusiastic to buy it as they would otherwise be, hence having a possible small impact on 2nd hand sales. Obviously, in case you couldn't tell, which i think is extremely likely, this is opinion. Looks nice in the Hornby Magazine video: Shame it seems to have no interior lights as it looked a bit like it did in
  4. Don't rub that in! They did the 150/2s at that price earlier last year too though I didn't have the money at the time! Just brought 2 150/2s lately, one for £99 from footplate and another at £114 from ehattons! I did check MDR before I brought those 2 as well but was something like £130 at the time (this is for a 150/0 conversion project)
  5. There prices never seem as competitive as they use to, haven't ordered from them in a few years.... Always had good service with them though
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WRENN-W4652-BR-GREY-MACHINE-LORIOT-LOWMAC-WAGON-B904631-CARD-INSERT-BLACK-ni-/361852515605 This looks good, but seems a bit ridiculously priced!
  7. Hi, Thanks for the reply. Assuming I've found the right link this seems to not have the slope though? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GWR-Loriot-W-G41-BR-D-900-902-Engineers-well-wagon-Cambrian-C48-free-post/281829199424
  8. Hello, Wondering if anyone can help me out... I am more of a DMU fan so don't know much about wagons... https://farm8.static.flickr.com/7364/26695245764_b4d2a6e160_b.jpg What is the closest RTR model I can get of the wagon on the back? Obviously I will have to add the skips on separately but I can do that... I have come across this: http://www.hattons.co.uk/59356/Bachmann_Branchline_33_902_45_ton_bogie_well_wagon_in_BR_Departmental_black/StockDetail.aspx (but there is a big gap which this one doesn't have) and this: http://www.hattons.co.uk/233990/Hattons_H4_WW_005_Warwell_wagon_50t_with_diamond_frame_bogies_MODA95534_in_MOD_1970s_olive/StockDetail.aspx (but the slope seems very out) If there isn't anything closer please let me know which you think is closest! Thanks in advance.
  9. The discounted 150s seem to be going quite a bit now... Hattons were never the cheapest for the centro 150s but only 7 left in stock now and can't find any cheaper options atm. Might be time to get one before they sell out if you want one! http://www.hattons.co.uk/60858/Bachmann_Branchline_32_937_Class_150_2_2_car_DMU_150202_in_Centro_blue_stripe_livery_/StockDetail.aspx Rails still cheapest for the weathered /1 but stock level doesn't seem too threatened atm.
  10. Could always get all ready to dispatch and then send them off at once assuming there is enough space!
  11. Why would virgin be forced to have their brand used with whoever the new operator found is? I would be supprised if that was required... It has a small virgin logo on it though... The whole red scheme very much suggests virgin to me. Not going to quite be the iconic start of a new virgin addition that it was meant to be... Probably won't effect sales from the pre orders much but I think it might have somewhat of an impact on future value...
  12. Let's hope toadies VTEC news doesn't cause withdrawals of the pre-orders for the VTEC/Hitachi 800...
  13. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not more waiting! Still quicker than Bachmann though, hey!
  14. Are there way too many differences for a 150/0 to be included with any 150 toolings?
  15. I can't stand how they always come up on google searches for sold out items I'm desperately trying to find...
  16. Do they just print a wood effect on or is it something more complex than that?
  17. As per title? It's for text so cutting out white backed wouldn't work... Not sure what to do!
  18. I have painted a rake of mk3 coaches into Chiltern Livery thank you very much and the look decent. I however much prefer the look and feel of a factory painted model. I did start a blog on it at the time, you can see some resprayed coaches... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1882/entry-16794-livery-in-progress/ Getting the right colours is the main bug bear tbh. I don't have an airbrush and with a compressor they are about the same price as a train* and i'd rather have the train. Spray can colours are far too limited >.< *Ok maybe not so much now compared it 3 years ago but I am still very reluctant to buy one. The only 150 livery I wan't that much is a London Midland 150/1 but with all the curves and white text I just can't see it as an appropriate project. Edit: Did not proof read and I can glance see loads of mistakes, sorry, am way to depressed rn to correct.
  19. Less amount of train for the same money Out of interest, what liveries?
  20. The Class 150 tooling was only made 2 or 3 years ago? Still seems new to me! Surely it is in the manufactures interest to make as much money out of one tooling as possible by reproducing it in many liveries as it is extra profit without quite as much work as making a totally new model?
  21. I do know how to repaint models but anything over £60 of value I get very scared of modifying and I much prefer the finish of factory painted items. The FGW 150 sold out very well. Of the new ones, the weathered one sold better than the centro /2 and that didn't stop them announcing 4 more /2s (FGW Kernow Exclusive, ATW, GWR, Arriva Northern) Wasn't there something about the under frame detailing people were complaining about? I don't remember but I don't see why this would stop them announcing more if it was this but I don't know if it is this or not?
  22. Why have Bachmann not produced any more 150/1s since the original release of the new tooling?! Personally I much prefer the look of the 150/1 compared to the /2 so I fail to see why no /1s are being made?! My main concern is price rises over the years so I wish they'd announce one sooner rather than later at an even more expensive price...
  23. It's usually just what they list on their website and very limited stocks, often gone within the first 30 mins or so! Sometimes there is modern stuff, the discount amount and stock changes every weekend. I think I've brought one loco from their sale once but ended up selling it on a year later as only really brought it on impulse. 2 years ago they had one of the 4-coach older Hronby NSE EMUs for £60. Not exactly modern image to my liking though! Often when they have N Guage offers on they are really good prices and often include modern DMUs, But wrong gauge for me!
  24. Don't Bachmann have some initial pricing policy so they'd have to charge a higher amount based on RRP anyway though?
  25. Why has the ATW 150's RRP gone up so much?!?!?!?! 30% increase!!! Was going to buy that too! Out of reach for me now :-(
