  1. I thought I mention that when looking for interior references I find the photo site flickr is a great source for interiors for shops, factories and the like.
  2. Now that is an incredible interior. The level of detail is astonishing. How did you go about it?
  3. This is without a doubt incredible. I've done a little bit of interior design on one or two buildings on my layout. One of which I'm proud of is a Chinese take-away with interior lights and a few punters queuing up for there takeaways! Just gonna do something similar with some terraced houses.
  4. Just thought I say that I've taken to your advice on scratchbuilding and now I've got myself a nice little scratch building of my own in the works. I found a building I like the look of on google and have managed to build it up to scale. My own version is completely different to the original one as it's low relief and it comprise of a small supermarket and a travel inn. How did you go about making the details for the shop like the food and drink packaging? I take the web is not as helpful on this.
  5. Do you think so? I never really noticed before, even though I've been going there since I was a kid! . I'm mainly looking around for the odd building to fill in the rest of my high street and mainly been looking for shops and the like in the west Midlands area, which my layout is set. Had I known this whilst I was studying up there then I would have taken more of a look around. Even if I wanted too I wouldn't have the time to do so, being in my third year and having to spend more time on campus than the city. I'll take a look on google maps and see what I can find and of course I live in Newquay which is only an hours drive for me. Trouble is my car might not make it there! Thanks for the advice.
  6. Ah I see. Good thing I got myself a scale ruler with 1:76 measurements. I'll take a good look on google and see what I can find. I mainly want to build some low relief buildings that are more on the lines of 1950s concrete structures to finish off the street scene on my layout.
  7. That petrol station is the best scatchbuilding I've ever seen. It's such an inspiration that it makes me want to go ahead with some scatchbuilding myself. How did you go about it? I'm pretty stuck at measurements and scaling to OO and I wonder if you have any tips for a newbie to the scratchbuilding process.

  10. Now that's what I call a model railway! It's so beautiful and highly detailed! I love the detail and look of the station and the OHLE. I just wish I could build OHLE like that. I've been trying to build my own but never have much luck. I do look forward to seeing more of this beast of a layout of yours.
  11. Funny enough I tried to get some portal bits to make the registration arms from Nbrass Locos but apparently they stopped doing them! So now I'm going to have to make my own.
  12. Now that's what I'm talking about! I've been past there many times on my commute from St Austell to Plymouth.
  13. No problem. Are you going to be at the model exhibition in Cornwall by any chance?
  14. When I first saw in Railway Modeller I just had to read all about. It's is such a fantastic depot there.
  15. Are you from the Newquay area in Cornwall by any chance? Just that I'm from Newquay myself.
  16. Those are some incredible buildings you got there! There is a lot of high quality detail you've got there.
