  1. A blast from the past (quite literally). Missy.
  2. I made mine out of pair of parallel jaw pliers. They work really well. Missy.
  3. Hi. I know its not the same scale but have you looked at the work the members of the 2mm Scale Association http://www.2mm.org.uk/ ? Split chassis design is pretty much the standard way members build engines. As a result there are many ways around dealing with split chassis design. There are plenty of examples in the 2mm scale area here on RMWeb. Missy.
  4. Hi Valentin. I don't know. I replaced them with some branded bearings (SKF). They are a standard size. Julia.
  5. Hi. From my experience, the bearings are a light press fit into the cast housing. I ended up finding a length of brass rod that fitted through the centre of the bearing and lightly tapping them out from the opposite side through the second bearing. Julia
  6. Hi. Adding rivets really transforms what could potentially be a quite plain piece of metal into something of real interest. What size rivets did you use? Also can I be cheeky and ask if you could post the links to the videos you found useful. I have struggled to find any good ones in relation to riveting. Thanks.
  7. Depends if they are spoked wheels or solid ones. Julia :p
  8. Teeny Tiny Wagon Bogie now... Wheels next..... Julia.
  9. Teeny Tiny Wagon Chassis... Had to make my own bending jig for it... Julia
  10. Had my fist dose of AstraZeneca on Saturday. It put me out of action for about 24 hours. A bad fever, uncontrollable shaking, aching all over, and a very sore arm. Things are getting much better now though. Missy.
  11. You could say that about some members of this forum too! Geeeze... Missy.
  12. That looks absolutely awesome Bryn! J
  13. If its any use Mark, I have some J94 wheels designed to fit 2mmSA rims modelled and printed. I could make another set if you like? Julia
  14. It has come out really well Kevin. What was Bruce doing for axles again? I don't remember if it was discussed previously. Julia.
  15. There is an amazing amount of milling operations for such a tiny bit of Brass... Julia.
  16. Its quite concerning reading how the virus can so easily spread. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-56730037?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=607597270b5e0102e3fc553a%26Source of South African variant cluster in south London%262021-04-13T14%3A07%3A17.062Z&ns_fee=0&pinned_post_locator=urn:asset:7a62d678-6381-4e34-92c8-bb5909ddd35b&pinned_post_asset_id=607597270b5e0102e3fc553a&pinned_post_type=share M.
  17. I have never really understood how much that impacts their use on a model engine. I understand the theory behind it and the torque values etc, but is it really that important for our use? How often do we ever run a motor at full speed? Basically, the larger the motor the more torque and slower running it will be. JUlia.
  18. Hi. These might be of interest to the avid collectors of tiny motors.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0612-6mm-12mm-DC-12V-45000RPM-High-Speed-Mini-Tiny-Coreless-Motor-DIY-Toy-Model/252447876925 I got some through the post a short while ago and on initial inspection, they seem nice little motors. Its hard to ignore them at that price! Julia
  19. This has sucked up way more time so far than I expected it to. Still absolutely heaps to do on it. Julia
  20. Hi Richard. How about 3D printing the moulds directly for casting? Its something that I have been wanting to try for a while now. M.
  21. Hello. I was asked by @2mm Andy to see if it was possible to generate a 3D printed wheel centre that could be printed with NO MACHINING. Today I thought I would give it a go. I haven't clocked it yet but initial checks looks like it is possible,..
  22. Hi Puzzler Guy. Thank you. I currently have 2 gear hobs I use, both carbide. One came from China via the wish website www.wish.com and the other one came from Russia via ebay. Missy.
  23. That just doesn't make any sense to me as well. I was always under the impression your body produces millions of antibody cells when fighting a virus or similar. I think 50 million would be more appropriate. I would assume the figures being quoted are 'per something' like per '10ml or blood'? Of course, more than willing to be told I am wrong (as it seems common in this thread). Missy.
  24. Let me guess, a reinvented particular colliery layout perhaps? Missy.
