Hope Mono Minis on mine. Hope service is brill. The Hope pads are dodgy though. Fibrax or EBC much better

I killed a set of Hope pads once on an extremely mucky ride up in Dark Peak. Fibrax do seem to last longer.

There was a bracket I needed for the rear derailleur. I found it online but tried two bike shops to try and get it quickly. One said they had one three days ago but was asked today if I wanted them to order one for me, the second told me no such thing existed! I ended up ordering one online!

Any decent bike shop will have a selection of brackets in stock, they are designed to bend or break if knocked to save the frame from damage.

After seeing some of the stuff you've made I had to pick my jaw up. Amazing modelling there, missy. I was particularly impressed with the Q1 gearbox and carden shaft, and the working station lamps.

  13. Reports say I am an 'exceptional engineer'! :O) Still no job though..

We may now live in a world that no longer seems to value engineers, but there will very soon come a time when that is proven flawed, and engineering will step in to save the day. Stick at it and don't be taken in by anyone suggesting that engineering is not worthwhile; Engineering as a discipline is so much more than a career ... it's a life decision... and one that I'm so glad that I took over 25 years ago.

hopefully the new year will bring the new job julia

I must be honest and say that I probably wouldn't have become an engineer if I had the chance to choose a career again. I found it to be anprofession which is undervalued and unrewarding.

To be honest, your decision to steer clear of model making as a profession is a wise one. It can be difficult to find a steady flow of work and a steady income.
